SUMIN'S P.O.V
I took in a deep breath as I heard the many noise of cars passing by, and I knew I was nearing the crosswalk. With my walking stick to guide me, I walked until came close enough.
As I was walking, other students passed by me and I overheard their conversation.
"I had to do so much homework last night," One girl complained.
"I had to take care of my little sister, while my parents worked. I had no time for homework." The other one says, and groaned.
When I heard that, I stopped walking as the memories flooded in again.
"Hold still," She says as she drew on my face.
"Is it going to look pretty?"
"I don't know, wait until you get the mirror." She said, and then laughed to herself.
"Naeunnie!" I frowned, and started to lean back. "You're probably drawing something ugly on my face!"
She continued to laugh, and that was when I knew she really did, and started to crawl towards the mirror, and looked at myself. It was a complete mess, as she drew thick eyebrows on me, blue eyeshadow that reached up to my eyebrows, and a big black mole near my nose.
"My face!" I yelled, and she laughed so hard she had to lay on the floor.
That late evening, Naeun got yelled at because of what she did to me, and because she didn't get her homework done on top of that.
"I have no regrets," She just said to me with a shrug and a wink.
I smiled to myself and started to chuckle, but it was for a short moment as I remembered... that was an old memory when she was ten years old, and I was only eight.
The empty void in my heart started to pull, and I reached over and grabbed my chest, grabbing a fistful of my shirt.
I started to bite my bottom lip to keep from thinking about it again, and shook my head.
I sighed, and continued to walk towards the crosswalk. When I came, the crosswalk was already beeping the count down, so that means the other people were already crossing the street.
I stayed, so I can wait for the next one seeing that I came too late.
I tapped my walking stick forward, trying to find the pole so I could press the button. When the bottom of the stick hit the pole, I started to walk over, reaching out so I could touch it.
I felt the cold metal of the pole, and started to feel down when I started to smell that familiar cologne in the air, and turned my head as someone's shadow blocked the sunlight over my head.
"I already pressed it for you," He says.
I began to look up, and saw that blurriness of the light tan color of his face, and the dark shade on top, which was his hair.
"Good morning," He says, and I could see the light pink tint of his lips and saw that he smiled.
"Thank you, but please don't help me cross the road today, I can do it myself." I just say, and took a step away from him.
