"How did you do on your assignment last night? Did you have alot of trouble?" Miss.Yujin asked me while we walked, my arm looped in hers as usual."No, I didn't. It was really easy actually," I say, and Miss.Yujin chuckled.
"Well I'm glad to hear that." She says, and stopped walking. "Hey, Sumin, I have to copy some papers in the teacher's office, so do you mind if you can stand here and wait for me for a little bit?"
"No, I can wait for you here," I say with a smile.
"Alright, thanks Sumin! I'll be right back," She says, and I let go of her arm as she opened the door, in front of us, and I stepped away, and leaned against the wall beside the door.
As I waited, I listened to the other students walking passed me, how their shoes squeaked against the tile floor, and the mix conversations of boys and girls in the hallway.
Class hasn't started yet, since it was still early in the morning. When Jin walked me to school just earlier, I was greeted warmly by his friends, the ones that I've met the other day.
I was glad I get to call them my friends too, and that drew me even more closer to Jin.
"Good Morning, Sumin."
Some students say as they passed me, and I bowed and greeted them back with a warm smile.
In the beginning of the school year, people were a little apperceive of approaching me, because of how the accident had affected me and everything, but I'm glad now they are opening up to me now.
I guess it was how I show how I was a bit more confident with myself that attracted people, and I got the boost, thanks to the help of Jin.
I smiled to myself, thinking about Jin again.
It hasn't even been an hour last time I've met him, and I'm already missing him.
"Hey there Sumin!" A girl says, standing in front of me.
I didn't recognize her voice, but I lifted up my head.
"Good morning," I say and smiled and bowed.
"So, like my friends and I were wondering if you are dating Jin, because we've seen you guys walk together to school like, all the time." She says, and I could hear her chewing her gum loudly.
I couldn't make up my mind to tell them the truth, since I was afraid of what might happen if I did.
"I think you should ask Jin instead of me," I say quietly. "Either way, if I told you or not, you wouldn't believe me as much as you would believe him."
The girl stopped chewing her gum, and started to scoff.
"Hmm, you're right, I should ask Jin. But knowing him, I don't think he would date you."
I lifted my head, but I couldn't find any words to reply to that.
"I think he would date a girl who, hmm, how do I say this without coming off as being rude... but face it. Jin wouldn't date a girl who can't even see him. Sorry, but it's the truth."
She says matter of factly, and her companions started to laugh at me, but I didn't let them go without saying anything in defense.
"You're right that I can't see him," I began, and they stopped laughing. "but sometimes I appreciate being blind, that way, I can see how attractive someone is by their personality, and not their looks. And judging your personality, you are really not attractive."
She gasped. "What did you just say?"
"You heard what you said, and you know how you're." I say calmly, standing on my ground.
"Oh you're such a-"
I heard something like a slapping noise, and I flinched a little, but then I realized no one had hit me.
"That's enough, Heeyun." Another girl says in a throaty tone, like she was threatening the girl.
"Let go of me, Hyeri." The Heeyun girl said in annoyance, like she was about to hit me or something.
"Not until you apologize to Sumin first," Hyeri says, and I liked her already.
"Oh my god, like why do I have too-"
"Do it." Hyeri said in a lower tone, and that silenced Heeyun.
Heeyun sighed. "Fine. I'm sorry for what I said," She paused for a moment. "A-and was about to do to you. I'm really sorry."
"Alright," I just say, even though I knew her apology wasn't heartfelt, but at least she did say sorry.
"Okay, now can you let go of me?" Heeyun said to Hyeri, and she probably let her arm go as I heard her and her friends walk away while mumbling some bad things towards her.
"Are you alright?" Hyeri says, and I nodded, and smiled at her.
"Thank you for that," I say to her.
"No problem. Heeyun is in my class, and she's a total bitch and I couldn't stand watching her bully you like that," She says with a gruff.
"Hyeri, don't say that word." Another girl says, and I flinched again, since I know how many girls that were surrounding me. The girls noticed. "Oh sorry if I scared you, my name is Sojin."
"And I'm Hyeri." Hyeri says, and took my hand, and placed it in hers. "It's nice to meet you Sumin. Where's your classroom?"
"Oh, I don't go to a classroom with other students because of my disability, but a small office room" I say quietly.
"What? You're by yourself?!" She says in shock.
"No, not really. I have my teacher, Miss.Yujin. Talking about her, you don't have to take me to my classroom. I'm supposed to be waiting for her here right now, but thanks anyways."
"Well alright, you sure you're safe here?" She asks me again. "Because I can fight off some more bitches for you-"
"Hyeri! Don't say that word!" Sojin says, and I giggled.
"Yes I'm sure," I say with a smile. This girl was really nice but a little tough on the other side.
"Well, we'll see you around then! Bye Sumin!"
They said, and I waved bye to them as they walked away from me.
A little moment later, Miss. Yujin finally came out, and we walked together to the office, but I couldn't stop thinking about those two girls, and especially the one who have saved me.
I have gained two more friends today.
I thought, and smiled to myself.
And look who's here.
Just a quick reminder, this was before Short Hair, so Hyeri was a whole lot nicer :)
There's going to be more connections in the future, and this is just the beginning ;)
