My parents are going to be pissed. I'm covered in mud, had my first kiss with an almost stranger, and I almost got into a car crash.
Calum and I are driving home. One of his hands is driving, placed on the steering wheel, and the other one is resting on my thigh. I wish we could just stay in this position all day.
He looks over at me and says "Let's go to my house, my parents probably aren't there and you can wash off before you get home."
I nod my head, great, another thing my parents have a reason to be mad at me about. Going over to a boys house without permission.
"Tell me about your family." I said catching his gaze.
"Well, I have a strict Asian mother that loves to cook and knit, I have a dad who lost his legs in a boating accident that loves to fish, and I have a little sister who I love even though she annoys the hell out of me." He smiles, "Her name's Addie."
I smile, pick his hand up off my leg, and weave our fingers together. I pictured his family living in a perfectly clean house with China plates and beautiful paintings of flowers on the wall. When suddenly we come to a stop, we arrived at his house. It was a big yellow house with a bright red door. It had purple and white flowers lining all the windows, and a beautiful front porch leading to the door. Calum typed in a code for the door and walked in.
"Mom? Dad? Adds?" He yelled while closing the door behind me.
"Here!" A little girls voice called.
Soon after I hear her voice, a girl with dark hair and green eyes comes hopping down the stairs. Her hair was in a side braid and she was wearing a light pink blouse with jeans. She looked at me with question on her face.
"Calpal why are you dirty? And with a girl?" She said in a sweet concerning voice.
"Hi, I'm Riley. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Addie. why are you with my brother? Because if you guys are dating she's too pretty for you Cal."
I laughed and looked over my shoulder to see Calum rolling his eyes. He takes my hand and leads me to the back yard. We walk down the back porch steps to revile a beautiful pool and a swing set.
"I dare you to jump in the pool." I say with a smirk, "It's way faster to wash off with then a hose."
He looks at me like it's a challenge, "Whatever you say princess."
Before I knew it Calum was cannon balling into the deep end of the pool. He landed with a splash and bounced back up to the surface to take a breath and wipe the water away from his eyes.
"Your turn." He winked.
I realized hands were on me a little too late, shoving me lightly towards the water. I look down to see little 9 year old Addie trying to push me in with all of her strength. I decided to play along and pretend to fall in.
"Ahhhhh!" I screamed as I hit the water.
I heard Addie giggle "Can I do your makeup now?"
