Caleb's POV
It felt good to be back at camp. All the familiar sights, noises, feelings and even smells rushed back to me as if welcoming me back from my unsuccessful quest.
The quest; what an epic fail. All I had to do was get information about the rumors of Kronos rising. I ended up getting caught by a dim witted Cyclopes during my quest.
But you did find Sappho, a small voice in my head said. She may be the daughter of Hecate, maybe it’s not so bad that you were captured.
I led Sappho down the hill to the Big House where Dionysus lounging in a lawn chair and Chiron in his bewitched wheelchair to hide his, um, wild side, was playing cards, I guess things never change.
I cleared my throat to let them know of my presence.
Chiron looked up from his hand. “Caleb, aren’t you supposed be on your quest?”
I nodded, “About that, I think I found someone that might have to do with the big prophecy.”
I gestured to Sappho who was standing right next to me looking really confused.
Dionysus rolled his eyes and muttered something really quietly.
Chiron raised his eyebrows. “Really, how do you think this young lady would fit in with the rising or the end of the Greek gods?”
“Well sir I got trapped by a Cyclopes during the quest and she got captured also. I tried filing out of the ropes we were tied in but then she burned the rope, and my arm. Once we were free of the ropes she transported the Cyclopes to Egypt.”
“What’s your name?” Chiron asked Sappho.
“Sappho,” she replied and Dionysus fell out of his chair.
Dionysus started to mutter to himself his brows furrowed. He leaned towards Chiron and whispered something in his ear and Chiron began to look worried.
“You’re right,” was all Chiron said.
After Chiron said that a dark image of a black dog appeared above Sappho’s head. All three of us, Chiron, Dionysus, and me looked at the symbol.
“What are you starring at?” Sappho asked trying to see what was on top of her head.
“You are a demigod; half human half god,” Chiron stated. “Your mother is Hecate the goddess of darkness, magic, and crossroads.”
Dionysus sighed. “Welcome to Camp Half Blood, you might be wondering why this all happening, don’t worry, I’m sure one of your half brother’s will explain.”
Sappho looked really confused but she nodded like she understood.
Chiron shuffled his cards. “Caleb, can you show Sappho to her cabin?” he asked me.
I nodded and pulled Sappho gently by the wrist.
Once we were out of earshot of Chiron and Dionysus Sappho stopped and said, “I’m not going any further until I know what’s going on. Who are those people, and why do they think the Greek gods exist, and more importantly think I’m a descendant of one of them?”
“Sappho,” I said earnestly. “The Greek gods do exist. How do you think you did what you did when you transported the Cyclopes to Egypt? Even a better question what did you think when you saw the Cyclopes?”
Sappho bit her lip, she started to look at the other campers walking around us barely giving us a glimpse. “Um”-
“Sappho!” someone yelled.
Sappho turned around looking shocked. “Jared?”
