Daughter of Hecate

Chapter Eight

Percy's POV

        It was so wierd to discover that Caleb was also part of a big prophecy. It seems so... ironic. he's always the one to joke about him not being as powerful as me, and telling me how glad he is not having to worry about the gods breathing down  his back, but all along they were. What's also peculiar was Jarred's sister, Sappho, she seems so powerful- but at the same time weak and vulnerable. Sapphho's choice will affect the other big prophecy- but what will she choose? Caleb or wierd evil dude that's possibly the guy i hate the most- luke? I doubt she will choose Luke- she barely knows about the greek gods and what's going on- i donn't think she will bother with anyone until she getts anchored and adjusts to camp. There was something else about her that made my stomach churn, in a really good way. What was I thinking about? Sappho is destined TO HAVE A CHILD WITH CALEB not me! What am i? A thirteen year old girl?! Sappho is with Caleb. for life. done. the end. no buts.

      "Percy!" Grover shouted running up the grassy hill i sat on top of leaning against a tall oak tree. i looked up to one of my best friends

        "Yeah?" i asked trying to hide my aggitation. Why did Caleb have to get all the hot girls- most of them are 75% of the aphrodite cabin, but still.- and now he get's Sappho the only girl i fall for?

        "Did you here about Caleb?' he said gasping for air- physical activity is Grover's least favorite thing, unless it's to get cheese enchiladas. "He's part of the prophecy!"

        "Yeah, Grover, he told me." I feel kinda bummed, Caleb was my other best friend, during all my quests- he was the one that gave me the information of what was going on at camp. Me him and Grover wer the three muskateers. Mo, Larry, and Curly (A/N: aka the 3 stooges). Even the golden trio in the harry potter movies- grover being hermione. I supose i shouldn't be mad at him- it's his future and it was decided for him.     

        "Did you see the Hecate girl?!" Grover said in his big brevado. i nodded. "Woo, she's hotter than Apollo on the summer solstice, too bad she's practically taken."

        "That makes two of us," i murmered standing up from my spot and stretched my legs. Gover narrowed his eyes and smiled big.

        "you like her," he said grinning bigger than his lips would normally allow. i shrugged and walked down the hill with grover at my heels. "What do think Sappho thinks about you?"

         That stopped me dead in my tracks. " I don't know what Sappho thinks," i replied facing tbhe opposite way of grover. "For all i know she doesn't even remember my name."

        "Whatever, brah." grover said "But you should tell Caleb about this- Secrets secrets are no fun cause secrets secrets hurt everyone."

        I rolled my eyes and turned back to grover. "Okay mother goose, I'll tell him at capture the flag tonight."

         Grover seemed pleased and trotted off to leave me alone.. so i went to the one place wher i think the best- the practice arena.
