Sappho's POV

Jarred showed me the whole campsite- all the cabins, the practice area for swords, the  stables, and even an obstacle course with an active volcano! Then when we were at the lake Jarred stopped And sat on the shore.

"So," Jarred said as we sat on the rocky surface, "What do you think of camp so far?"

"It's okay." i said starring at the lake's rippling surface. "I just really miss my dog, iggy."

Jarred laughed bitterly. "Don't you want dad back?"

"Not really." i admitted. "I guess i missed him at first, but once i thought about it, my whole life since i can remember; we fought. I hope knowing my mom would change what i think of parents."

Jarred smiled. "I think you'll like mom, you seem so much like her. You both are so sure of your self and definite." i rolled my eyes and saw a boy walk out of the lake dry.

"hey Jarred." the boy said glancing at me. "who's this?"

"oh," Jarred said. "hey Percy. this is my sister, Sappho. Sappho, this is Percy, son of Poseidon."

"Hey," I greeted Percy who simply waved

"Sappho, do you know what house you're in yet?"

i nodded. "Yeah, i  do, and apparently it's a big deal and no one will TELL ME!" i said the last part hinting Jarred. After a second i realized i still didn't answer Percy's question so i simply said "Hecate," with rosy cheeks- I don't like to be embarassed.

Percy smiled. "Well i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but basically, one of the Apollo son's or the host of kronos will get you pregnant by your 17th birthday. Then your child will bear the power to over throw Zeus's or bring the gods into another golden age."

I bit my lip, "So, should i just wear protection and not have sex?"

Jarred shook his head. "The gods found out that even how much you try to avoid a prophecy- it will still happen."

I jumped up away from them and ran as fast as i could. "Sappho, wait!" they both shouted as they ran after me

" páei makriá se misó!" i shouted still running. for some reason i felt stonger and more powerful but, that moment quickly dissipated as i fell on the ground. i didn't care were i was so i just curled up in a ball and cryed myself to sleep.

When i woke up i was surrounded in darkness- not the darkness thats frightening, no, this was the complete opposite. Not being able to see left a curious mystery to what laid ahead, but then i the blackness faided to a forest.

"Why do you cry, my child?" a women asked in a silken vioce.

"Mother?" i asked looking around for the women i've wanted to see my whole life.

"Yes." The voice responded stepping out of the shadows to reveal a young woman around twenty-five with dark eyes and hair.

I ran over to her and hugged her tightly and mother chuckled. "I missed you" i said into her shoulder. Hecate laughed.

"Did you know that is the most any demigod has directly shown love toward their godly parent?"

i shook my head and pulled away

"so," Hecate said. "How do you like camp so far?"

I shrugged. "It's ok, i guess. I've made one friend so far, i guess if you can call him that."

"Who is that?" she asked her ears perking when i said 'he.'

"Caleb blue." i replied, then suddenly two and two went together. "He's the one, right? the son of Apollo?" Hecate nodded grimly. Then she spoke words that i would never expect out of a mother's mouth.

"Stay close to him Sappho. You and Him are our only hope at surviving. As your mother, i also made sure that he will treat you with respect and dignity- Kronos' host wouldn't think twice before assualting you."

"Isn't 'the talk' supposed to be about abstenace and avoiding sex?" i asked confuesd

"On on normal circumstances yes, but you- my only daughter i will ever bear will have that one exception." i blushed and the she said. "I think that is enough information for one day"

"Does Caleb know yet?" i asked not wanting to leave my mother.

"Apollo will inform him tonight." she stated "apochairetistírio kór mou, farewell my daughter."

"wait!" i shouted but it was too late. i awoke in black silken bed sheets in a dark cabin that had ebony bunk beds with sheets thrown everywhere and other items i would rather not mention. I sat up and looked around the room. I jumped to see someone sitting beside me in a chair but relaxed a little when i relized it that it was only Caleb asleep on a wooden chair. I smiled, he looked so peaceful when he was sleeping. then i realized that he was probably talking to his dad about the prophecy right now. I hoped he won't see me differently now he knows that our future relies on eachother.
