"Be careful with who you trust, the devil was once an angel." This is a perfect quote for this chapter. Hint, hint. Wink, wink.

Chapter 7

As we ran away I kept asking Jessica what that was and she just told us to keep running. So we would speed up.

My heart was beating out of my chest and my leg muscles had excruciating pain. But I kept pushing myself.

We ran for at least two miles until we ran into our first guard. He was just standing. He had a gun and was in a white suit like Jessica has told us about before.

In the breast pocket of the suit there was a crest. I couldn't see what it was of, he was to far away but I knew it was there.

I could tell he heard us because in his left hand he had a flashlight he swung it to were we where standing we quickly jumped to the ground except Jessica. She put on her best scared face and started to limp toward the gaurd. "Hello!" she yelled at the man. When I saw his face he didn't look older than 21. He was handsome from far away.

"Who are you?" he said with a deep, stern voice.

"I'm Jessica Tanner. Please you must help me."

"You must show me an ID. If you do not have an ID you will be escorted to the Cloud Headquarters." He started to say something else but stopped in his tracks.

"Oh yes." She took out her ID from her pocket. He looked at it and nodded.

"What do you need help with Ms. Tanner?"

"Oh please. Call me Jessica." She batted her eyelids. I could tell what her plan was. She wanted to use her beauty to charm him so she could kill or injure him enough that we can get away. I hoped it's the second one as a last resort.

The young man cleared his throat. "Jessica, what may I assist you with."

"I was being chased by the Vays."

"I just heard them. Are they close?" he asked scared.

"Yes and I twisted my ankle while running from them. I guess they didn't recognize who I was." The boy gasped then he sat down.

"Lucky for you Jessica I'm excellent at being a doctor."

"Oh can you help me?"

"Yes here. Sit down." He patted right next to him. So she sat down. Still leading this poor guy on. Then she stared into his eyes. I saw her pull something out of her back pocket. It looked like a syringe, but i didn't know for sure. And he surely didn't notice it.

"You have pretty eyes." She said pulling the syringe closer to this naive boy. She also started pulling him into a kiss. The poor guy leaned in then Jessica stabbed him. He fell, lifeless. I got up from my spot on the ground so did Kennan.

"You killed him! Oh my gosh. You just killed a man! What are we going to do!" I said hyperventilating.

"Calm down."

"How can I calm down! I just watched someone die and he didn't try to kill you. And he didn't do anything to you."

"Rehyn he's not dead."

"He's dead. What are we going to do now?" I kept rambling on. Then the thing Jessica had just told me, that he wasn't dead, finally clicked in my brain.

"He's not dead! he's not dead. Kennan he's not dead!" Why was I so excited about this? I didn't even know who this guy was. "Wait then what is he?" I asked.

"It's just a sleeping drug the Cloud gave me." She like it was no big deal. "Alright. I want Rehyn to put on the suit."

"Why me?" I got a closer look at the breast pocket and the embroidered crest that I saw wasn't there. I guess it was just a figment of my imagination.
