Beautiful Escape: Chapter Six

Ajalon.

My father is being really petty about this fight I had with my aunt. He shut off all my credit cards so I have no money and he changed the locks at the house so I can no longer sneak in when he's not home to shower and change clothes. For the last three days I've been washing up at the YMCA down the street from my school and I still have fresh that can last me until next week. I still have yet to cry about the fucked up situation I've been put in but I'll put a smile on my face and pretend none of this shit is happening.

I can't front and say I'm not hurt because who wouldn't. My own father can't stand me and I don't know why. The only reason I can think of as to why he has so much animosity towards me is because I was born. Sometimes I think maybe he never wanted me and since my mom isn't here so he pawn me off on he has to deal with me, maybe he uses physical violence to make himself feel better. Either way I wish I knew because then I wouldn't be so stuck.

"Why you tell Rio you weren't coming to his game?" Jubilee asked as we sat in her room getting ready.

I shrugged, " I wanted to make him sweat a little bit."

Jubilee laughed while touching up her hair with her wand curlers. We decided to match in tight fitted straight legged jeans and fitted white crewneck t-shirts. Jubilee had Chevy's jersey number on the back of her shirt with cute designs while I had Kario's.

"What's up with you and him?"

"I dunno but I kind of like where this is going. You know as well as I do men and I don't even go in the same category."

Jubilee chuckled.

"I think he's good for you because in the last month I haven't seen you smile as much as you do whenever he's around or even when somebody mentions his name."

I smiled.

"Hearing you say that means so much to me."

"Its what I'm here for." She dramatically flipped her curls over her shoulder then batted her elongated eyelashes.

"You are too much." I shook my head as I fingered through my loose curls that spiraled down my to my shoulders.

After we finished getting ready Jubilee and I hopped in her Jeep then she pulled out of the drive way blasting Kanye West "Control". Soon we were pulling into the packed parking lot of our high school and walking through the front entrance. We paid our five dollars then tried to find a seat on the bleachers. Today is the biggest game of the year and with Carmen Ainsworth just a few steps over had the whole gymnasium on edge.

"There go yo' boo." Jubilee pointed to Kario as he and the team warmed up.

I smiled as I watched Chevy and Blake notice Jubilee and I while Kario focused on shooting his three pointer. Chevy tapped him on the shoulder then pointed to us. The smile on Kario face grew ten times more then the size of his face when he spotted me. He waved then I blew him a good luck kiss and he winked.

"Oooh okay I see you girl." Jubilee nudged me with a smile.

I playfully rolled my eyes then the cheerleaders came out and I noticed October, the school slut. This bitch is known around school for getting with any dude with a dick. I remember ninth grade this hoe sent a picture to some senior with her face in it and he sent it around school but that didn't her from hoeing around.

"Who you staring at so tough?" Jubilee asked.

"This broad October."

She chuckled. "Chile that girl been wit' every nigga in this gym, I highly doubt she looking for anyone."
