Ajalon.

I've been living in this foster home for almost a week and its not as bad as I had imagined it to be. Although I do find myself having nightmares about my father suddenly reappearing in my life and in each dream he gets closer and closer to killing me. Mama Debra wants me to see a fucking psychiatrist but it's not the first I've had that dream and I'm not about to lay down on anybody's sofa and tell how my father abused me because he hated the day I was born. I refuse to have some stranger put a label me when in reality nothing is wrong with me.

I haven't told Jubilee or anyone I live in a group home. It's embarrassing and to me down right devastating. Thank goodness I graduate in a few months and waiting to hear from Spellman and Truth University, my top two colleges I absolutely have to attend one. Staying in Florida is just out of the question and something about the south just makes me feel at ease.

Kario and I have developed a strong foundation to our friendship so maybe it'll blossom into something I've never had.

"Let's hang out today, just me and you." Jubilee offered as we walked through the halls on our way to lunch.

"You got it babe." I winked.

She and I picked something out to eat then found a table in the center of the cafeteria. The room was buzzing with chatter amongst other cliques then the basketball team came parting the crowd gloating about winning an out of state game they had the other day.

"Oh Lord, here come dumb, dumber, and dumbest." Jubilee rolled her eyes while biting her carrot.

"What it do, baby blue." Blake screamed hugging my shoulders.

"Jesus, Blake you take you one trip to Louisiana and all of a sudden you got an accent."

"Its all gucci shortie, because down there all the bitches love me."

"Rio, he sound like you calling girls shortie."

Sitting next to me and taking a bite out of my salad Rio smirked. "He's been talking like that since he got back."

"I heard about the game on the news. Congrats you guys, I can see my skills rubbed off on y'all."

"Stop lyin' cause I'm the one who taught you how to shoot a free throw."

I playfully rolled my eyes as Amber came over to the table and everyone got quiet. Jubilee and I haven't really spoken to her since before the last basketball game.

"Wassup guys?" She beamed standing next to Kario.

"Hey Amber." The guys greeted her but she and I had our own issues while Jubilee flat out ignored her.

"I said wassup?" Amber spoke directly to me and Jubilee but I entertained myself with something on my phone and Jubilee blatantly stared at Amber like she was an annoying fly.

"Sorry, but the person you are trying to reach is unavailable to entertain your bullshit right now. Please leave a sorry ass excuse at the beep." Jubilee yawned. "Beeeeeep."

Not caring about how Amber felt Blake and I fell out laughing while Chevy and Kario tried to contain their composure.

"What did I do to you. I thought we were suppose to be girls but y'all have been treating me like an outsider."

"For the record I haven't been treating you like anything, but for you to talk a game good about how much of a slut October is the pictures y'all posting on instagram are really cute." I smiled big.

Amber was silent.

"We're not telling you who you can be friends with because your a big girl but keep it real to us and yourself." Jubilee added.
