Beautiful Escape: Chapter Seventeen

Ajalon.

"I feel like I look ridiculous." I chuckled looking in the mirror.

Jubilee and I were at the mall looking for outfits for the party Teddy was throwing tonight.

"Heifer, you look sexy, shit if I was a nigga I'd be tryna get'chu in my bed."

I shook my head, giggling a little bit. "You don't think it's too much?"

"Aja, it looks fine. I just wish you'd wear those shorts but these joggers got yo' booty on fleek."

"Shut up and get out of the dressing room before they think you tryna seduce me." I laughed shoving her out of the doorway.

I changed back into my regular clothes and paid for my outfit. After Jubilee found some stockings for her skater skirt we headed over to her place to get dressed.

"So I got my UCLA letter in the mail the other day and I'm scared to open it."

Jubilee's eyes lit up. "I got mine too but I was waiting for you to say something."

She went searching through her draws until she pulled out an envelope similar to mine.

"Okay, I'll read yours and you read mine."

She nodded. "On the count on three."

We ripped open the letters at the same time and our eyes scanned the papers. As if we were one, we both began to jump up and down while hugging each other.

"Bitch! We're about to be all up and through college."

I wasn't suppose to cry but the tears came streaming down my face before i could control it.

"Awe Aja, why are you crying?"

"You don't understand how much this means to me."

We continued our cheering sessions until Mrs. Newton came rushing in and she cheered along with us but finally we were able to calm down and get ready.

MyRio: toots we leaving in a little bit, y'all asses better be ready. 9:30pm.

"Rio just text me, they're on their way so let's finish cause I do not wanna hear his mouth."

Twenty minutes later I was fighting with Jubilee's thigh high boots that did not want to lace the way she wanted and Mrs. Newton called us down because Chevy and Rio were here.

Finally we fixed her boot and headed downstairs. We said goodbye to Mrs. Newton and walked out to Rio's truck.

"Aye nigga, Teddy said we gotta bring a bottle so stop at the store." Chevy said from the back seat.

Rio nodded pulling off down the street.

"Bae, you good?" He asked glancing at me.

I bit my lip and nodded. I didn't want to tell Rio about my acceptance letter, he was so stressed out about his mother and the recruiters coming to the game, I didn't want to tell about me moving just yet.

"Y'all want something from in here?" Blake asked getting out of the car.

"Water please." I smiled.

"I want some skittles." Jubilee added.

Blake extended his hand through the window.

"Bye Blake." Jubilee laughed and he grumbled something.

I giggled. "How the hell do they plan on buying alcohol?"

"This store almost never cards so they'll be aight."
