"So how was it?"
My mother squeals as soon as I stepped inside of my house; she has greeted me with a huge smile on her face and eyes sparkling as bright as the stars from up above. She helps me remove my jacket and pulls it close to her chest, "Did you see all of them?"
With a smile on my face, I nodded at my mom. "I did, and I'm really so happy right now."
Mom brushed my hair with her hand, tucking it later behind my ear before looking back into my eyes with another wide smile. "I know," she whispers. "I know you are, sweetie.."
"It's all thanks to you, mom." I replied, "You have made me realize how much I'm going to regret it if I hadn't come. I'm really glad I listened to you," I added in.
"When I heard that they will be coming back on tour and Philly is on top of the list, I remembered you. I know how much you were missing your friends in Orlando, Evette."
Suddenly, I remembered what Toby mumbled to himself earlier. I looked down to his jacket that is around my mother's arm then she speaks, "What's wrong?"
"Oh," I gasp. "Nothing! I-I just.. remembered something.."
"What is it?"
"Well," I sat on the couch with a sigh and resting my elbows on my knees as I locked my fingers together and placed my chin upon them. "I heard Toby mumbling something, mom.."
She placed the leather jacket on the side of the couch then sits next to me, leaning back and waited for me to continue. "He said something about wanting me to join them on tour." Mom's eyes widen, she has the same and exact reaction I had when Toby blurted that out.
"I-I couldn't tell whether he was being serious or not, cause when I asked him to repeat what he had said, he told me to forget about it." Mom scoots closer to me, stroking my hair while I gave her a puzzled look.
"This is all up to you," she locked her eyes on mine. "I don't want you to have any more regrets than this. Your father and I have been deciding for you all along but that stops today, Evette."
My eyes widen. "Wh-what are you saying..?"
Mom chuckles. "I'm saying that if you want to go, you can."
Is this seriously happening?
"You never tried making friends in every town that we lived in because you know you'll have to leave them one day, until we moved to Orlando." Mom looks down on our lap and giggles softly, suddenly she turns to her right side and placed a small box on my lap.
"What.... is this?" I asked with a light chuckle.
"Why don't you open it?" She smiles and I did as I was told. As my face turned red, I stood up on the couch causing the small wooden box to fall to the ground. Mom laughs as she watches myself becoming even more red if possible, "You didn't think I'd ever find that, am I right?"
"I-I.. uh.." I stuttered, I really don't know what to say. I never imagined that my mother would go through all of my stuff and found this letter I made for Toby. Everything is all clear to me now; mom knows about my feelings for Toby that's why she convinced me to go to Before You Exit's concert. "Wh-when have you found this letter?" I asked, my hands shaking. This is the first time that my mother has found out that I am in love with somebody.
"A few weeks ago," she replied.
"And you've only decided to tell me now?!" I screamed while she laughs over and over.
"I was cleaning your room, then I found that in your drawer." Mom answers, "Who knew that you were in love with Toby McDonough?"
I sighed, collapsing on the couch once again. "Mom, no."
