When I first arrived on Wattpad I never expected to meet so many wonderful people and read such a huge variety of work to make me laugh and cry, and think about life, in all its madness and glory the way Wattpad has. Who knew!

The first time someone asked me for a review, it took me longer to compose that paragraph than she had taken her to write the book!

I tried, but I was still new to the art, to do a review for Klubbe the Turkle and the Golden Star Coracle by Philip Dodd because I just loved it so much. (Try saying it out loud - sublime!) It's a fantasy with a reluctant hero on a tricky quest, which seems very simple and childlike, but sets you thinking in the sweetest and gentlest and cleverest way. It was a Finalist in the Wishing Shelf Independent Book Awards for 2015. I totally recommend you to have a little treat and pop across to read  atum7574 .

I had never bought a book on-line or even glanced at Amazon and was far too shy to actually post a review. I was afraid of misunderstanding the book, or making the wrong point. I didn't realise that any sincere and appreciative review is always valued, and helps enormously. We should all do it much more. Well, you probably do it already, so what I am saying really is I should.

So my favourite review would be the only one I am sure I sent. It was for the magnificent and outrageous eternally true to life, side-splitting story of ColmHerron : The Wake.

Colm Herron's book, "The Wake," is anguishingly funny, witty both in its construct and execution. The twists and turns of the imagination and the intricacies of conversation with undercurrents and eddies, and deep cutting channels, will almost submerge you at times, as he dissects us all, and our illusions and pretensions.I f you think you are able to laugh at yourself, which is all we can ever hope to aspire to in this life, beware. He will get you. He is almost merciless in his compassionate analysis of the lost soul's relentless catching of hope. The political background and references go beyond my knowledge of these troubled times but I am in awe of the man who found a way to weave such intricate threads so humanly together.

I actually read the whole book, and that is a huge thing for a poet to do! I like a work to be one page long usually. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at his agonisingly accurate portrayal of the way people weave in and out of each others' lives and meanings like the rolling of the sea, lacking none of the salt in the spray. ColmHerron is a genius, and so is his book. Believe me, and read, now !
