She felt as if she had been staring at him for what seemed like hours, smoothing back his hair, running her fingers across his pale face as she wanted nothing but his arms. It was now as if she was giving back, still feeling ill herself but willing to attend to his every need. "I love you, Lindsey, come back to me..." hand on his chest as she moved it lower, just above his pants, bringing up one leg to drape across his. "I'm lonely and Kelly isn't anything like you. I miss your hands as they undress me, brush the sides of my breasts as you pretend it's an accident, caressing my skin as I sleep. This is more than just you being my caregiver, my friend, it's mutual love and I know it. I don't care what you tell me, you're in love with me as much as you were all those years ago..." tears falling on to his face as she trailed a finger over a peck muscle, tracing an invisible heart across his chest. "Deep down I somehow knew that my buried love for you would resurface and I've fallen so over the edge. I need you, Lindsey."

Stevie continued to lay there rubbing his chest, his fine male skin covered in tiny wisps of black hair, enjoying the feel of it on her fingertips. He was the most attractive man she'd ever been with, absolutely gorgeous and dedicated, thinking back on all the chances they had but she let them go.

He'd been asleep for hours, the tragic event that hit them during her birthday had him completely knocked out. She would fall asleep herself and then wake back up, either him in a different position or still in the same since, checking and rechecking his heartbeat as hers pounded erratically. It caused her to start that severe agonizing pain to soar through her, pinning herself to the bed rail as she tried her best not to alert him, squeezing hard as her knuckles turned white.

"Oh, no, please...no. God, I can't do this again..." shaking as the sweat started to pour down her face.

Lindsey's body picked up on her energy as he opened his eyes, groaning a little as his head pounded, noticing the IV and then remembering what happened. He turned his head to face her, wincing while he moved his body around to be careful not to pull the tube attached to his arm, weakly raising his one hand to touch the small of her back. "Baby."

"Lindsey...?"  Stevie sobbed. "Lindsey, Lindsey - help me. Help me, please, it hurts!" the whole bed shaking while her body convulsed. "Why does it have to hurt like this?"

Though seeing double, not at all his usual self, he scooted as close as possible, rubbing one of her hips. "I got you, I got you."

"I don't want you to hurt yourself more than you already have," moaning as a wave shot through her.

His eyes blinked, effortlessly pulling her from the rail, finally holding her as he kissed the crook of her neck. "I love you."

Covering her mouth with a hand, Stevie cried even harder, fighting this part of her detox, slamming a fist in to a pillow. "Keep talking to me, distract me."

"I love you...The curve of your hips, the way you smile when I reach for you...How I can look in to your eyes and melt...The beauty of your face and those lips...I miss those lips," lifting the hair from her neck while kissing it.

"God, I love every inch of you and I miss being close."

Lindsey cupped her jaw to turn her head to the side, rubbing her cheek with his nose. "I've never stopped missing that."

Biting down on her lip then clenching her teeth, Stevie took hold of the railing again and shook it, almost tearing it from the bed as the pain began to die down. So happy that it didn't last as long as the last time, hearing the blood in her head as she began to slow down her breathing.

Staring at the back of her head, Lindsey kept fading in and out of sleep, not wanting to leave her again just after that rough withdrawal. She was covered in sweat, it seeping through her nightgown as she had to change, him watching her every move as she assisted herself for the first time. He was so proud, staring at her naked backside.
