Finally, the day had come. The day where Stevie and Lindsey were both released from rehab, fully detoxed from their addictions and ready to take on the next steps in their lives. It was just, were they going to be facing those next steps alone or together?

Stevie packed the last of her things, checking and rechecking to make sure that she had everything. Not even sure what she had originally brought since Lindsey packed her bag! Lindsey. He hadn't spoken to her since that argument about Cheri, still wondering why he wanted to hold on to her if they seemed to once again have each other.

Her parents were set to arrive, to take her back to Arizona, sitting on a chair near the window when her mother appeared.

"TeeDee!" said Barbara, her mother, as she stepped through the door. "Oh, my beautiful girl! You look wonderful! I am so proud of you!" taking her daughter in to her arms as Stevie began to cry. "Why, my girl, what is wrong?" patting her on the back.

"Lindsey."

"Lindsey? What's wrong with, Lindsey?"

"Nothing, he just..." scoffing as she blinked back more tears that were ruining her makeup. "I miss him."

"Miss him...? Why, darling, did he already leave?"

"No - I mean, I don't know."

"Then what is with these tears?"

"We had a fight."

"Oh, no," her mother always knowing very well of how things between her and Lindsey could go down hill.

Stevie nodded. "It was my fault. I had told his girlfriend that we were together again and she stormed out, me not thinking that would be such a bad thing since I thought we were..."

"Oh, dear," sighing as she sat down with Stevie. "Alright, what happened?"

"We were in separate rooms this week and I went to visit him, we got close, and things kind of happened...I let him back in and he wanted it just as I, it got really heavy, and we ended up in bed. We fell asleep together and while he showered, his girlfriend showed up, I opened my big mouth due to being territorial and told her that she had to leave - that he wanted nothing to do with her now. Lindsey came to my room and asked why I had been missing and I told him everything, him becoming angry with the fact I broke the two of them up with out his say. Was I wrong to have done that?"

Barbara shook her head and took Stevie's hand. "Honey, I know how things can get between you and Lindsey and it's beautiful when you are getting along and I think with out realizing it...well you almost become a different woman when with him, taking control of his life along with yours. I can see why he would be upset but Stevie, Lindsey loves you so very much, and I wouldn't doubt him now."

She sniffed, nodding, knowing her mother was always right when it came to these things. "I do, don't I? I control him but then he has the tendancy to do the same with me! I don't get it! I love him so much but we can never seem to get our sh1t together."

"Why don't you talk to him? Go on, go ahead and tell him everything that you are feeling. Apologize - which I know is very hard for you to admit you are wrong first! It will help though, I promise you," squeezing her daughter's hand. "Your father is out front with the car, he's waiting on us, but I will let him know that you'll still be a few minutes. I'll grab your bag so you don't have to worry," kissing Stevie on the face as she stood then took her things, heading out the door as Stevie then did the same.

Lindsey had checked out an hour ago, sitting out near the pool as he waited for Cheri to arrive. He wasn't sure why he tried to reconcile with her but he felt as if it was his duty to end a relationship, not Stevie's, thinking over everything he wanted to say if Stevie was still willing to take him back. He'd felt like an absolute fool for biting her head off that day, afraid to show her his face, something that was normal on his part while they fought. It was that he loved her so much that he was now afraid that he had ruined things for them once more.
