Throughout the next few days, Stevie entered her fourth month, feeling as if it wasn't the same with out him. With out Lindsey being there to check that milestone on the calendar, even him feeling as if he was missing out on so much, taking the first flight he could catch to return to Stevie's arms.
The car pulled up to her gate, Lindsey luckily already knowing the code as he was dropped off, walking up towards the house with one single suitcase. It felt as if forever since he was in her home, unlocking the front door quietly as he removed his shoes, her two dogs greeting him as he pressed a finger to his lips. "Shhh..." he grinned, petting both of them on the head as he then made his way up the stairs to find Stevie still fast asleep. Since it was only going on eight, Lindsey already knew that she would not be awake, sliding down on to the bed as he moved the hair from her neck to kiss, gently rubbing her shoulder as she stirred.
Taking a few seconds, Stevie did not realize he was there until she felt the hold on her waist, caressing her belly while she gasped. "Lindsey...?" turning her head to find him staring right back at her, engulfing him with hugs and kisses as he laughed. "Oh, baby, what are you doing here?" his face in her hands.
"I missed you," smoothing down her hair, capturing her lips in a slow passionate kiss.
"It's only been a few days."
"And that's a few days too many."
Turning in to an emotional mess, Stevie cried in to his chest, Lindsey holding her close and rubbing her back. "When I flew back home with out you, I knew I'd never feel the same."
"Gosh, baby, so did I. I had my last appointment for the week and couldn't bare to be with out you, flying out here as soon as possible."
"How long will you be here?"
Lifting her chin, he smiled, "The whole weekend."
"Oh, Linds, I am so happy!"
"I am so glad that you are happy because I am happy," once again kissing her lips.
"I love you so very much," Stevie touched his lips, cupping his cheek then moving up through his hair.
"I love you, too," grasping her hand to kiss. "Say, I have something for you..." reaching down in to his pocket as he pulled out a black velvet box. Her eyes grew wide and immediately thought of an engagement ring, Lindsey feeling a tad hurt at the quizzical expression on her face, opening it to show her that it was not him trying to bring up marriage again. He revealed a beautiful sterling silver necklace that had a tiny footprint with the letter R engraved on the back, representing Robin as she let her fingers touch the sentimental gesture. "I had it made for you," removing it from the box.
Closing her eyes as more tears flowed, she covered her mouth with a hand to hold in the cries, Lindsey clasping it around her neck as she fondled it. "It's so beautiful, thank you so much."
"You know that I will do every and anything to make sure our baby is never forgot. Now you can take them with you wherever you go."
Arms up around his neck, Stevie held him tight, hands running over the back of his head as he pulled her up in to his lap, lifting her nightgown to look at their growing baby. She sat against his chest so he could bring his hands up around her, making circles against her belly as she closed her eyes from the gentle loving touch. "There's now nothing else in the world that I want more than this," leaning her head back in to his shoulder.
"That makes the two of us," kissing the side of her face.
"I have plans for tea with some friends today but you are more than welcome to join," thinking of things that they could do together.
