The exam would be easy, they said.
The ones we reviewed would be the only ones that will come up on the exam, they said.
Then why did I have the feeling I was going to fail?
My math exam didn't go well as I expected. It was not easy, it was freaking hard. Only a few parts that we reviewed came up on the exam. There were some parts that weren't even discussed but were in the freaking test! Why, why?
After our math exam ended, we were given a one-hour break just so we could study for the next exam as well as the chance to take our snacks or grab some brunch. Chemistry exam was next; which luckily I shared with Violet, Sebastian, and Alex. Although we were sitting together in the cafeteria, which was eerily silent, we were all so busy we barely spoke to each other. Chemistry wouldn't be such a pain in the butt if it weren't for our teacher who gave us tons of pointers to study and believe me, we had to memorize everything. Everything.
"Fuck this shit!" Seb suddenly exclaimed as he threw all his notes which made the three of us stop studying. I just stared at him with an I-know-what-you're-trying-to-do look but he proceeded on doing it anyway.
"Just kidding," he smiles weakly while he picked up his notes. "I need to pass."
"Did you just seriously imitate the meme from 9gag?" I spoke first seeing both Violet and Alex were laughing at him.
"Oh, come on! You knew that?" Seb asked in disbelief.
"It practically went viral." I said with a duh tone.
I was about to continue studying when Violet asked me:
"Hey, Ivory! How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"
"Seriously? I don't give two shits about that damn woodchuck."
"We're doing tongue twister now?" Alex asked out of the blue. For a split second, I forgot he was even with us in the first place.
Violet chuckled. "I just want to distract your girlfriend since she's so worked up in Chem."
"He's not my boyfriend." I said nonchalantly.
"Yet."
All three of us stared at Alex once he said that word. Vi and Seb were staring at him with a look that meant they agreed with him. I, on the other hand, looked at him as if he grew another head.
Alex smiled. "Just trying to distract you, since you're so worked up in Chem."
I rolled my eyes but returned his smile after. "Congratulations, it worked."

After four days of pure torture, the exam finally ended. I could finally breathe. Thank goodness.
Since prom was tomorrow Friday, Vi and I decided to hit the shops and look for a nice cocktail dress. Violet gushed about how Sebastian asked her to be his prom date right before the exam started; to which she obviously agreed.
We were just about to exit the school when I received a call from Alex. I thought it might be important since that was the first time he called me, so I didn't hesitate on answering it.
"Hello?"
"Wait up. I'm right behind you."
That stopped me dead from my tracks. Violet gave me questioning look, but when she looked at who was behind us, she gave me a bright smile.
I turned around only to see Alex approaching us. He was holding a bunch of red carnations and he surprisingly gave it to me.
He cleared his throat and started saying, "I know this is all of a sudden and might be on the last minute, but, will you be my date?"
Cheeks flustered, Alex looked straight at my eyes. I might just be the luckiest girl in our school! The students near us stopped and stared as if they were waiting for my answer. Some girls looked, or should I say, glared at me. Others were smiling as if telling me to go for it. Girls usually asked Alex to be their date. In my case, it was the other way around.
"Of course," I replied without having a second thought. "I would love to."
I saw an unmistakeable gleam of triumph in his eyes. He immediately engulfed me into a hug which I gladly returned. I didn't comprehend what made him so happy about that. I mean, I truly was happy he chose me to be his date, but I wouldn't be so pumped up as he was.
Okay, what the hell! I was as happy and excited as he was. I just didn't really show it.
"So, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 6?" Alex confirmed.
"Gotcha." I winked.
With one last smile, he went to his car and drove away.

"Take that off right now and look for something else." Violet demanded. "It looks horrible!"
Actually, it didn't. The dress was comfortable, although it did make me look fat. We were at the usual boutique where we shop for our gowns and dresses. Their dresses are high quality but were not that expensive. Violet was done picking hers, with my help. And by help I mean rambling things to her for picking gowns that didn't suit her. Now, it was her turn to make me change and change. Payback's a bitch.
After what seemed like forever, she finally agreed to the dress that I picked. The dress was comfortable. It didn't show much yet didn't cover much either. It was just right.
"It's perfect!" Violet exclaimed while clapping her hands.
"Finally." I rolled my eyes which only made her giggle.
Violet looped her arm around mine as we exited the boutique, carrying our purchased dresses with us.
"Ready for tomorrow night?" she asked me, with a glint of excitement in her eyes.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
Next chapter's going to be the part where Ivory will know S.A! Who's excited as I am? ;)
