Mingyu stayed confined in the hospital and was picked up by his mother after a few days. I wasn't able to visit everyday but I'd drop by every now and then together with Wonwoo and the other guys. Well, I am still shy about how fast things are progressing in regards to whatever relationship Mingyu and I have so I haven't mentioned anything to anyone yet. That's the case for Mingyu as well because I can catch him casually sneaking a glance towards my direction every time they have a group conversation I wasn't very much aware of.
One time, after school, we all decided to visit Mingyu again because Wonwoo told me that it was his last day. He was finally getting discharged the next day! I made sure to bring some sandwiches I made the night before to share with everyone but to our surprise, Mingyu's mother was there when we arrived in the hospital.
"Aigoo.. you didn't tell me you'll be having visitors?" His mother was a graceful and beautiful woman around her early 40s. I don't have a vivid memory of her but I do remember a few from way back in elementary. My mom and his mom would chat with each other as they waited for the bell and I'd always catch a glimpse of how Mingyu's mother looked like when we were kids. I can really attest that nothing seems to have changed in her physique. She was as bubbly as ever.
She greeted everyone with a warm smile and the moment I bowed and returned the smile, her eyes widened ever so slightly before she greeted me and gave me a hug.
The boys were busy catching up with him so I decided to help his mom with setting the food up.
"I can't believe how much you've grown.." she started. "Mingyu just stopped talking about you so I forgot but the moment I saw you earlier.. I knew who you were right then and there."
"H-he did?"
"He was all over you as a kid. Of course a mother wouldn't forget about her son's first love.."
The utensils I was holding slipped off my hold and created a loud thud on the tiled floor. I was so caught off guard with what she told me that I totally lost focus of what I was doing!
The guys saved me from further embarrassment and helped with the table preparations and I can't help but hear the mother and son bicker for a short moment.
"You're telling her weird things again, aren't you?" Mingyu said and his mom just laughed. I can't help but steal a glance and appreciate the small interaction that's happening and didn't notice the small smile forming in my lips.
Classes are on going and there's no one beside me to annoy me all day. Even after being discharged from the hospital, Mingyu still had a few days of buffer before he could actually return to school. The whole incident was being dealt by both schools and could possibly be brought even in court. I really don't know much of the updates since it's my cousin who updates me and speaking of which, we haven't talked much since we don't really interact as much in the first place. I'd like to say that Wonwoo and I enjoy living our separate lives in peace.
In addition, I do feel lonely all of a sudden but I should be happy right? There's no one disturbing me and absolutely no one disrupting my precious "me" time.
"Nari," Someone calls my name but I decided to focus on the lesson. It's currently a deadly calculus class and I do wish to take advantage of the fact that Mingyu isn't here to disturb me plus, I don't find the voice familiar at all.
