I stare at Taehyung, who is obviously panicking and trying to bring me somewhere safe. I stil can't get ahold of the situation so I ask him with a lot of questions. This heavy feeling looming over my chest wasn't comfortable and the fact that I haven't seen Mingyu yet is worsening it.
"W-why are they looking for me?" I say while he drags me to the roof top.
"This is Mingyu's fault!" He shouts, out of composure.
When we reach the roof top, he quickly left me there and closed the door without a single word or answer. Now that he got at the highest part of the building, he thinks he accomplished his goal of 'bringing me somewhere safe.' In fact, he still hasn't answered any of my questions. So I'm left with nothing but them.
My attention was stolen by the loud voices from below the campus. Knowing that I'm up here, I look down to check what that was and see a gang of boys with a different uniform. They're clearly not from our school but they just walked past our guards! So much for security!
I instinctively dunk the moment I saw them scanning the area. They probably wouldn't see me from here but they all look scary and I want to avoid as much eye contact as possible. I try to peep again and this time, I spot my cousin and his friends surprisingly together with Taehyung. The four of them were negotiating, talking with the other group and I seriously wanted to hear what they're talking about when they suddenly started shouting which can be heard even from where I stood.
Time suddenly slowed down the moment I saw Mingyu with the boys from the other school. His body was limp and his injuries obvious. They were holding him from both sides of his body and he was obviously beaten.. I wasn't used to seeing him so weak like this.
"W-what have they done.." I whisper to myself slightly trembling with fear and anger.
I ran down the roof top as fast as I can and see the rooms on my way down empty. I could no longer spot a single student and I instinctively run to the faculty room to see no one as well. Where are the teachers when you need them?! I knew my presence won't be that much of a help if I do appear there so I had to go around and search for help but it seems like no one was around at this time of the hour. The sun will set soon and the only ones left here are probably me and the guys. I can't believe the timing! My brother just had to pick me up late the very same day this happens!
I quickly head to the principal's office to see our principal's secretary and I immediately run up to her.
"M-miss, where is Mr. Choi?" I ask in a hurry.
"He is currently in the rest room, preparing to leave. Do you have any business with Mr. Choi, Er.. Ms. Yoon?" I quickly nod. She scanned me from head to toe and I'm sure she sees how desperate I am of our principal's presence.
"T-there's a g-group of students in front of the school gate.. They're from the other school nearby a-and there's a fight g-going on.." I tried to calm down but I really can't. I wanted to explain the situation but I was choking with my own words.
The image of Mingyu looking so weak and vulnerable didn't sit well with me and that sight remained in my head till this very moment.
The secretary looks so surprised and dialed someone that sounds like the guards from the school gates. I quickly leave the office even though she still wanted to say something but all I could ever think about was him. I needed to help him, I needed to save him.
I want to reach Mingyu as quickly as possible. That was my priority and I wish my feet could go on any faster!
I ran down a couple of floors knowing that using the elevator would waste my time and I could feel my vision getting blurry and tears start to fall as I run.
I reach the ground floor and quickly run my way to where the boys are. As soon as I caught the sight of them, I wasted no time and closed in the distance. They all look completely shocked to see me in this state— crying and panicking. I quickly glance at Mingyu who is currently unconscious. What have they done?
"I told you to stay where I left you!" Taehyung shouted and the one in front of the other gang suddenly had a smug look on his face.
"Yoon Nari? Right?" He states. I glare at him but he just laughs. "Fierce one, ey? I advice you to not look at me that way or you'd end up like Mingyu-ssi over here or worse." I clearly felt chills creep down my spine but I stood my ground. I wasn't scared, I angry! How dare they do that to Mingyu!
I wanted to run to Mingyu but Taehyung kept me behind him, trying to be an over protective friend. I tried to run past him again but Taehyung's grip on my warm was giving me a warning. He didn't want me to be reckless and just run into danger, I appreciate that but I just want to help Mingyu right now! He looks so vulnerable and I can't forgive those who mistreated him that easily. I wipe the tears away ready to run over Mingyu again when we suddenly hear a loud shout coming from behind us.
"Students! What kind of idiocy are you portraying right now?!"
All our eyes widened in shock to see our principal, Mr. Choi with guards. We were surrounded. Mr. Choi went to me to pat my shoulder and whispered a 'thank you.' I reported what happened and all the students who didn't belong to are school were forced to go his office for questions.
While everyone was frantic with the sudden appearance of out principal, all I could ever think was to run over to Mingyu who's left passed out on the floor.
