Jungkook is in the school clinic while Taehyung and I are sitting in the bleachers inside the indoor gym. Apparently, it's time for the ball games. All the boys joined the basketball team this year and Taehyung decided to sit this one out. He told me he joined the soccer team already and it'll be hard for him to join the basketball too.

It was not the case for Mingyu because as I sit here with Taehyung, I spot him in a basketball jersey together with all of the players. He apparently joined two of the major ball games.

The players were busy warming up and the gym was only starting to crowd up. If not now, then I don't know when's the right time to actually talk about it. Once the game actually starts, I doubt Taehyung and I will have a proper conversation.

"I have a lot of questions and I don't even know how to organize my thoughts." I started off.

Taehyung was silent but kind enough to hear me out. It's hard to put the words together ad actually form a sentence for them to understand and Taehyung being patient and understanding with me really helps a lot.

"I guess, I'll start off with Mingyu and Jungkook?"

It was hard to actually mention both of their names but it's inevitable. I'd be having this conversation sooner or later anyway. Taehyung ponders but soon starts to open his mouth.

"After you left for Japan, Jungkook transferred in our school." He stated.

That probably explains why they're all acquainted and I'm not. We basically slipped past each other.

"At first he was just an ordinary student, nothing really big but we eventually figured that something was up between those two because they never get along." He added.

I was all ears but my eyes were glued to Mingyu. He was warming up and was shooting a couple of 3 pointers.

"Then came this parent orientation thing. We were all surprised to see Mingyu's father attending with Jungkook."

I froze. I averted my gaze back to Taehyung and he could only nod and sigh. "Yeah, they're practically brothers. Half though. We learned they only were related because of their dad,"

Words were stuck in my throat and I'm having a hard time processing everything. Mingyu and I spent an awful lot of time together but when I thought I knew everything about him, it was all just the tip of the iceberg. And knowing that everyone seems to know of this fact besides me is scary. It feels like I've been left out on a portion of Mingyu's life..

"Mingyu hated his brother and father to death, obviously. He refused to take in his father's surname and used his mom's instead," Taehyung explained thoroughly.

"W-why did he hate them so much?"

"Love can turn you into a monster filled with hatred, Nari. That's what happened to Mingyu while you moved to Japan."

Taehyung's words were slowly creeping in my system. I had absolutely no idea about everything Mingyu has gone through when I wasn't around. He never shared his burdens with me, nor did he open this part of himself to me. It feels like we were attached to each other but he's refusing to let me in.

"His father cheated on his mom with Jungkook's mother. Apparently, Mingyu valued his mother more than anyone else.." Taehyung trailed off.

It was a few couple of seconds of silence. The only sound we could hear was the crowd and the players. I can't possibly sink all of this information in one sitting. It's just too much for me to process.

"I-I don't know what to say." I mumble.

I didn't know any of this. I didn't know Mingyu was holding a grudge towards his father like that. I didn't know he lived his life like that. I actually knew nothing about him.

"Ever wondered why Mingyu always gets what he wants in this school?" Taehyung added.

I hear the loud whistle of the referee and the crowd goes wild. The game was about to start. However, Taehyung continued what he was about to say before the whole gymnasium was filled with loud cheers.

"His father is the chairman, Nari."

I was walking like a zombie. Aimlessly walking down the street to my home, I decided to go home early. I didn't even finish the day and went home before the basketball game ended. I didn't join any games but I was drained and was tired. My mind was in a daze and nothing was sinking in yet.

"Ya, why are you looking like that?" My brother, Jaeri stated. My mom looked at me and scanned me from head to toe and gave me a hug.

"Why is my pumpkin this gloomy?" I shake my head and try to act as if everything's okay when in fact, it's not.

"Just tired." I lied.

"You should go ahead and rest then." My eomma gave a motherly smile before patting me in the back. Feels good to be back home.

"Oh and by the way, Nari." She added. "Inyoung called and told me that she'll be celebrating her birthday tomorrow. I think we should go and attend her party."

Oh great, a party.
