"We're in." Jeff stated as they heard a click from the door. Going into Slendy's office, he started rummaging through his desk, drawers after drawers of files and he still couldn't find the missing knives. "Where are they?" He frustratingly asked "Did Smile forget to give it to him?" She wondered "That reminds me, I need to teach that dog a thing or two about loyalty." He stated walking out the door with Jane not bothering to lock the door. "Smile! You in there?" The killer knocked on the said dog's room. No response was heard "Maybe he's out killing already." She mumbled before hearing a bark from outside. "That's gotta be him. Let's go." He ran to the front door dragging Jane with him. "Ow, slow down. Your yanking my hand too hard!" she complained as she tried her best to keep up with his pace. The man ignored her protests and proceeded out the door, finding the source of the bark but once again finding nothing. "Smile!" he called but no response, he thought of an alternative way to find the mutt. "Jane, do that whistle thing again." he ordered "Why can't you do it?" she asked "You can teach me how to do it later, now come on!" he demanded once more. The girl sighed and followed his command, sure enough the dog was running towards them in seconds, coming from the woods. Smile looked up towards Jane panting and wagging his tail happily to Jeff's annoyance. "You won't even respond to my calls but you come here the second you hear her whistle? My dog really needs to learn how to be loyal to his master. She's my enemy you messed up pup, how come you trust her but not my friends?" he asked kneeling in front of the dog. The dog not paying much attention to his master's questions simply licked his face as a response. "Ugh, my mouth was open." he complained rubbing his face, cleaning excess saliva with his hand. Jane giggled at the two, she never thought she would see this side of Jeff. "What are you laughing at?" you could tell by his tone that he was annoyed. "Nothing Jeff." she smiled sweetly "Anyways, where did you hide our knives?" he asked the dog answered by looking towards a direction, where he most likely hid it. "Please don't tell me you buried our knives." Jeff asked facepalming the dog looked away in shame, the killer stood back up and sighed. "Let's go find it then." he said and the dog ran back to the woods with the two following behind him.
"I swear, if you left even a single scratch at that knife, you're going to Go To Sleep." the killer warned at the dog that was sniffing at the ground. "Do you ever get tired of that catch phrase?" the girl asked rolling her eyes. "Nope." He simply answered. The dog stopped from his tracks and started to dig through the ground making piles of dirt everywhere. Sometimes even making the two's avoid the flying patches of soil to not stain their clothes though failing every time since they would go to opposite directions and only tug at each other. Finally he stopped digging only to find, more dirt? The two looked at the dog who was also confused. "You are NOT telling me you forgot where you buried them." he looked straight into the dog's eyes, glaring. "Hmm, wait is that a note on the dirt?" the girl inquired glancing at one of the piles of soil Smile made. Confused, she went to it beckoning Jeff to follow, she bent down and took the note and read it.
Dear Smile,
I saw you bury some knives on the ground and I thought it was a shame if you just let them go to waste. So I thought, I'd take the burden of your hands-or paws, you get what I mean. If you need them back just sing Pop the Weasel.
Sweetly yours,
Laughing Jack
"Great, the clown has it." Jane grumbled "Hey, don't say it like that. The man hates it when he's not taken seriously." he scolded, while Smile growled as if defending the girl. Guess LJ is one of his 'friends' that Smile didn't trust, the raven haired girl thought. "Okay, I'm sorry sheesh. Sing the song already." she apologized, now also wanting the familiar feeling of holding the knife back. "No, you sing it hurry up already." he pointed at her "Why me? Again? First, I whistle to get Smile, now you want me to sing to call LJ? What, am I your phone now? Calling people for you?" she complained "Yes, you are. Now hurry up." he ordered waving his hand for her to do it. She sighed and decided to comply to get this over with already. "Round and round the mulberry bush the monkey chased the weasel, the monkey stopped to pull up his socks, pop goes the weasel." she sang, Jeff and the dog simply looked at her. "What?" she asked confused "Did I get the words wrong?" she added Jeff just shook his head while the dog barked happily. "How did LJ even expect you to sing Pop the Weasel? It's not like you can talk." she said kneeling down and petting the dog. "Yes I can, technically anyway. Though only through the mind." she heard a voice in her head making her eyes widen and look around as if trying to look around for the source of the voice. After frantically looking around she looked back at the dog, eyeing him suspiciously. "Relax, it's just Smile. He can talk to you in your mind much like Slendy but he can't read your mind. So you have to talk to him yourself." the white hooded man explained. "Weird, but cool." she smiled and continued petting him. "I didn't expect you to call for me Jane, you have such a beautiful voice as well." LJ appeared behind her. Surprised, she yelped and accidentally hugged Smile in fear, tugging Jeff to the ground from the sudden motion. "Hmm, not one that likes surprises huh?" the black and white clown inferred from her reaction. "Nope, absolutely not." she huffed while Jeff stood up and grumbled a- "Could you just give our knives back? I want nothing more but to go on a killing spree already." "Oh, sorry to break it to you but you can't just get it back. You have to earn it." LJ informed them and smirked, showing off his sharp teeth. "Come on, I'm your friend. Can't you at least give consideration?" he asked "Sorry, but to get what you want, you have to play my game." he stated with a tone like a kid pestering his parents. "Fine." they said in unison.
They were teleported into some run down carnival, looking pretty much abandoned with the ride's maintenance state. "Welcome to my mindscape!!" LJ exclaimed "They all look like their about to fall apart." She commented as they followed Jack to some circus tent. "Don't worry, I assure you they wont." He reassured her, she sighed in relief. "Unless I say so." LJ added with a smirk on his face. Entering the tent, Jane was filled with awe as she saw the various acts going on inside the tent while Jeff was casually following behind the tall man as if seeing all of this before. "I assume that you've never been to the circus?" He asked looking back at Jane "Nope, never had the chance to thanks to Mr. Smiley over here." She pointed with her thumb. "Your welcome." He smiled and continued walking, she sighed. "So what do you want us to do?" She asked. "I want you to entertain my crowd." LJ announced gesturing to the only rows of seats that were empty. "What are you pointing at? Isn't the crowd over there?" She asked pointing towards the adults enjoying the show. "No, silly. Their not my crowd." the clown corrected and snapped his fingers. In a blink of an eye the empty rows of seats were filled with joyful children merrily cheering on the current act of a clown balancing on a unicycle while juggling ten balls. "This is my crowd." He gestured to the hundred kids laughing "They usually enjoy my presence enough but I wanted to try something new for them. Originally I was planning to make Smile play with them but since you two are also here you guys have to think of an act." He explained "What kind of act?" Jeff asked "Something to make them laugh." He said "Could I get my knife and kill you as an act? Cause I consider that to be funny." The smirking man said even though he knew he couldn't kill the supposed ruler of this whimsical world. "No Jeff, you can't but you could dress up as clowns and make jokes instead." The black and white stripped man suggested "There is no way I'm dressing up like you." Jane stated. "And I am not acting like a fool in front of those brats." Jeff added "Well aren't you two the picky one's? May I remind you that I have your knives, and I could very well do anything with them here." He warned taking out the knives and snapped his fingers to make fire appear behind him. "Ok, ok. We'll do it." They yelled. "That's what I like to hear and it appears that I have another guest as well. Please welcome, Laughing Jill." He gestured towards one of the curtains. "Hey guys! Is Jack making you play with him?" She asked, she looked just like LJ except that she was a female. Long black hair, a body with with skin as pale as snow, black and white striped clothes with feathers on the right shoulder. She went up to them and sstood next to Jack. "Yes, he is." They mumbled. "Can I play too?" She asked wanting to join in on the 'fun' "No, and how did you even get here? This is my mindscape." He asked annoyed by her sudden intervention. "I don't know either, maybe its because you keep thinking of me all the time." She teased and elbowed him "Or maybe its because we're both figments of the imagination before and have the same abilities." He responded "Hmm, whatever you say." She smiled unconvinced "I'm still not gonna leave though." She stated much to LJ's annoyance "Fine, you can watch them with me." The clown said in defeat from the clown girl's stubborn attitude. "You asking me out?" She teased once more "Shut up." He said tired from all her teasing while the two just stood there awkwardly, watching the girl continue to tease or rather flirt with him while he shunned them all down. Makes then wonder if she really liked him. "Anyways, think of an act already. I assume you two would want your knives back immediately." Smile interrupted them from continuously watching the two instead of thinking of a plan to entertain the children. "Alright." They said in unison.A few minutes have past and they called LJ to tell them they were ready. The clown was relieved, the girl pestering him would finally stop and avert her full attention towards their act. They sat next to the children, the kids immediately knew who Jack was but surprised to see the girl sitting next to him. "Who's she?" One of them asked he was about to answer but she cut him off. "Hi, I'm Laughing Jill, nice to meet ya." She put her hand out and shook hands with some of the kids, sometimes even giving high fives and cracking jokes every now and then. You could tell that the kids loved her and she loved them back. "Why didn't you tell us you had a cool girl friend Jack?" a little girl innocently asked "Yeah, she's awesome! I wish she could be here everyday." another one added Jill just giggled in response "Now, now she's not my girl friend. She's just a friend, okay? And her being here everyday would be up to her." He told them "Would you?" They asked "Of course, I very much enjoy your company." She joyfully answered hugging the girl who first asked. "Hey Jack, your cool with it right?" She asked with a pleading look still holding the little girl in her arms "Please." The kids joined in all having puppy eyes. "Yeah sure." He surrendered but now fully knowing that he would have to deal with her antics everyday. "And don't call me Jack, call me LJ. There are two Jack's you know." He said crossing his arms. "Okay, sorry." She smiled and looked at Jeff and Jane's grand entrance.
The two, now wearing matching black and white clown ourfits were dashing towards the spoylight. Jeff was running ahead of Jane a little too fast, making her trip and fall, while he continued on running paying no attention to the girl being dragged across the tent floor. Successfully, making some of the kids laugh. This is gonna be humiliating Jane thought.
