Jeff dragged her to one of the empty rooms in the building. The place seemed like a place for dancing. Mirrors on the walls, there was even a stage at the end of the room.
"So we are going to dance." She mumbled, loud enough for the killer to hear.
"Aren't you a sharp one, Janey?" He let go of her hand, somehow feeling disappointed that the feeling of her touch was gone. He set up the music they were going to dance to.
"But I don't really know how to dance." She informed him to which he chuckled to. He place one of his hands on her waist and another on her hand. "It's ok Jane, I don't either." Sure enough, she felt reassured with the statement, at least she didn't have to feel embarassed about it.
It was awkward, not looking at each other at all, moving their body's with no pattern nor rhythm whatsoever. Sometimes they even stepped on each other's feet. Nevertheless they enjoyed goofing around with each other.
As the time went by, and more songs played, they eventually got the hang of it. Actually dancing this time, swaying to the beat. Though not really knowing what dance they were doing, the music was lively and catchy, tapping their feet to match the music. Laughing off the mistakes they would make. The last set of songs were slow paced. Jeff took both her hands and wrapped it around his neck while he put his on her waist. It was incredibly uncomfortable for them to have been so close, hearts beating so fast and blood rushed to their cheeks.
"So this is normal for best friends too huh?" She tried to strike up a conversation and distract herself from their close ranged faces.
"Uhuh." He nodded
"There's a line between best friends and lovers right?" She asked
"Yeah, why do you ask?"
"I was just thinking that.... (maybe we could cross that line?)
What if we get our own separate relationships, would we still be just as close as always?" It felt like her mouth had a mind of its own, it just wouldn't let her say what she wanted to.
"Always have, always will be.(I'm hoping that our relationships aren't separate at all though.)" He responded.
"Well that's an overstatement." She commented
"We weren't always close ya know." She pointed out
"Yeah but the amount of time we spent trying to kill each other made it seem like it for the other's back at home."he added
"Speaking of home, we should go back now. Their probably wondering where we are by now." She informed him.
"Worry about that later, just enjoy the moment for now." He said as he changed his hands to the previous position and spun her around.
Jane almost lost her balance but her foot reacted just in time to prevent her from falling, then she spun back to the killer's awaiting arms. Repeating the cycle after a few times.
Right foot, left foot, side to side then spin. Right foot, left foot, side to side, then spin.
The last part pf the song played.
Jeff spun her again, then Jane spun back. Although this time she did lose balance. A small 'eep' was heard as she closed her eyes and awaited for the impact, yet nothing came.
Opening her eyes she was face to face with him. His hands supported her weight so she wouldn't fall.
The girl didn't know what to think nor what to do, she just kept staring at his ocean blue eyes. She saw warmth in them. Hypnotizing, as they always were.
He didn't mean for them to end up this way. It was a panicked reaction, nevertheless he enjoyed this moment of close proximity. Like with Jane, he was just as hypnotized with her pitch black orbs.
The dark seemed like a cold dark place but for him, it was something he belonged to. Living in it for so long makes you get used to it. Besides, he could see the smallest of ray light in the dark. And although Jane's eyes seemed dark and pitch black, he would still find them to hold the brightest light of all.
They showed hope, care and love for her friends.
Yet this time, he saw something else in them. A desire. He didn't know why he felt like it had something to do with him, like she wanted him to do something.
'It's now or never' he thoughtTime slowed, their faces seemed to get closer and -
"Jeff, we have an emergency! We need to -oh." A familiar red demon opened the door.
"Oof." Immediately letting her go by accident, as soon as the door opened.
"Oh my gosh! Jane are you alright?" He asked regretting what he just did.
"Yup, perfectly fine." She groaned, as she lay on the hardwood floor.
Jeff pulled her up, helping her to her feet.
"I'm so sorry, I did not mean to do that-"
"It's fine." She waved off.
Going towards the demon, Zalgo.
"So what was your emergency?" She asked. She didn't if she would get mad for his interference or relieved. What would've happened if he didn't just barge in here? Would they kiss? If yes, does that mean their going to be in a relationship? Best not to think about it anymore.
"I wasn't interrupting something important was I?" He asked a bit worried.
"No, not at all." She beckoned him to continue. (It was an obvious lie)
"Phew, good. Cause it's not exactly an emergency. More like, something that we need to deal with as early as we can." He responded.
"Yeah, an emergency." Jeff said
"Just tell us what it is." She asked hiding her annoyance.
"Well, it seems that humans are taking close range observance of the portals. Precisely, the one leading from the cemetery." He informed.
"Why would they do that?" Jeff wondered.
"Good question. Hopefully you can find the answer." The red creature said
"Wha-me? Why do I have to do it?" He complained.
"One, I have the suspicion that you caused this. Because it was only used twice so far this week and you are one of those who used it." He explained pointing at him
"And two, you owe me a favor." He added
"Ugghh fine. I'll start tomorrow. You can go now." He informed him.
" No, no no. You caused it, you solve it. Starting now." Zalgo insisted to which Jeff complained to.
"Ugghh can I at least walk her home?" He asked
"Sure, don't take too long though. I'm going ahead meet me at my palace." The demon-creature teleorted away. And so he went out of the room with Jane following behind.
"Sorry about that Jane. I guess the night's cut short because of me." He apologized as they walked back
"No it's fine. I had a lot of fun." She smiled reassuringly.
"You did?"
"Plenty." She responded he sighed in relief.
"I wonder what I did to make those humans start searching at the cemetery." He asked aloud
"Maybe it had something to do with that bug we found?"
"Nah, I crushed it to bits remember?"
"Well what else could've caused it?"
"That is for me to find out." He stated
" So, that means your going to be busy for a while huh?" She queried
"I suppose so. But at least you'll be too busy contemplating on how great tonight was that you won't even notice how long I've been gone. I'll be back in no time." He optimistically said
"No time at all." She mumbled sadly
"Hey uhmm Jeff I've been meaning to ask you." She started "What's on your mind?" He turned back to look at her.
"Back at the room where we danced." She continued, slowly.
"We're you really going to-......... drop me on purpose?" She face palmed muttering 'idiot' (What kind of question was that? Stupid!Stupid! Stupid!) She was obviously frustrated.
"I told you already, it was an accident. I just got surprised by Zalgo suddenly opening the door out of nowhere." He explained "I know, I just wanted to make sure." She excused "Wow, you REALLY suck at lying Jane. I know that's not what you want to ask. Just speak your mind, what are you afraid of?"
"Just forget I ever said anything." She said in a disappointed tone.
Continuing on, the travel back to the mansion was quiet. Going through the woods and to the front door. Turning the metal knob she looked behind her to say good bye. "Again, thanks for tonight, see you next time." The words she spoke felt distant. Entering and closing the door behind her, the sound of the door shurtting echied loudly. But she could still hear the faint whisper of the man she was just with.
"I may not have asked you today, but someday I will. I promise. Til next time..." he glanced at the door one last time before sprinting towards Zalgo's castle.
The exhausted girl went groggily to her room wanting nothing but sleep.
Laying in bed, still thinking about the night she just went through. Even until the lids of her eyes became heavy and slowly closed, brief moments of consciousness wavering back and forth til she enterned a deep slumber.Screams and laughter drilled ibto her ears. Constantly ringing, the more she heard the stronger the urge she got, to make it stop. The voice sounded familiar, which only made her blood turn cold. She frantically ran, finding the source of what seemed like someone who was being tortured. She felt like she was in a maze of halls amd rooms, the yelling seemed closer yet she still couldn't quite grasp where it really was
Finally she entered a dark and cramped room. The voice now accompanied with another, this time it was laughter, one she had never heard before. As the sounds progressed the previously screaming voice got weaker and weaker. Sprinting faster towards the source, she stopped in shock as she saw what was in front of her eyes. A bruised amd beaten up Jeff, chained to an electric chair. A table besides it, carrying various items for torture, tools, clamps, pliers, barbed wire, knives, scapels, scissors, nails, etc.
A tall light brown haired man loomed over his still breathing body. The man torturing him had a smirk on his face. "You had enough? Why not just give up? Any attempt is useless by now. You have nothing to fight for but yourself." The sadistic man spat. "I can't. Not now, not ever. I won't give up that easily. Besides I made a promise to someone, I'm not going to let them down." He said staring at her direction as if he knew she was listening, that she was right there in front of him. He had a comforting hopeful smile on his face. "Isn't that pathetic! Thee Jeff the Killer is nothing but a softy afterall. And let me guess... this person you made a promise to is that Jane girl isn't it? Bloody rivals that became best friends. Jane the Killrr, the one only person that could go neck and neck with you, or so you thought. " he mocked. The mere sight of Jeff beat up this bad, made her want to cry, if she was any like before she'd downright love the sight of him get hurt. But things aren't the same as they used to be. The captor took a knife from the table, Jeff's knife. "A lot of people got killed in thae hands of you, using this thing. It would just be perfect for it to be the same weapon used to eliminate you." The man pointed it towards him "Hey, hey you! Stop this!" She ordered but the man didn't listen to her. He raised the knife in the air. She couldn't let this go any further. Going infront of the man to stop his hand mid swing with her owm hand. Only for his hand to phase through her own. Desperately trying to stop it, only for all attempts to fail.
As the knife landed to Jeff's heart an unimaginable surge of anger came into her, it only fueled her hate for that man. She glared at him as he laughed at his suffering. "Its just about time I finish playing with you." He pushed the knife even more. Jane couldn't look anymore, but she didm't escape the howls of pain she heard. It went on and on, like it was some broken tape. she could'take it anymore and just screamed.
"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" She woke up in a cold sweat, looking at the ckock it was around midnight.
"I can't believe I'm stupid enough to do this." She commented, she opened window in her rroom and dropped down.
