Part Fifteen
"Go ahead, sir." Colonel Kellson responded to Commander Sanders who thought for a moment before he filled him in on the plan. "I want your recon teams to monitor the Combat Assault Groups and track their intended destinations. This could give us an advantage if we were they planned to attack us next."
"Aye sir." Colonel Kellson responded as he terminated the Video Audio Communication Screen transmission between the Anacoda and Adsasia's CO's offices and the image of Commander Sanders who also sat at his desk disappeared from the screen.
Immeadiately afterwards, Colonel Kellson accessed ARMIS on his datapad and transmitted an encrypted communique to Captain Thompsons and Captain Kellog who were currently onboard Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99754 and Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99764.
Over on the bridge of Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99754, Captain Thompson proceeded to read over the communique on his datapad then addressed his command crew. "Men, Commander Sanders is wanting us to monitor the troop movements of the ten Alcasian Federal Military Combat Assault Groups. If we can find out where they are headed-"
"Then maybe we can cut them off." Lieutenant Mark Ressan commented as he kept Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99754 several million kilometers behind Alcasian Federal Military Sierra 99764 in a flight formation commonly used by passenger transports.
Captain Thompson looked over the scans of the Berabs System a second or third time and realization hit him like a ton of bricks. "Damn, no wonder the Alcasian Federal Military has been attacking us constantly for the last several week. They have been tracking our flight path throughout the Alnanis Sectors."
"How?" Lieutenant Mark Ressan responded from the scanner control console. "I haven't detected any Alcasian Federal Military patrols near our flight path yet."
"Near Berabs Five, there is a scanner array which has been tracking the movement of our forces." Captain Thompsons responded as he sent another communique to Colonel Kellson detailing his realization.
Onboard the Anacoda, Colonel Kellson's expression as he read the communique on the Computer Access Terminal Screen in the CO's Office was one of shock.
So that was the reason why the Anacoda and the other Alcasian Republic Military starships in the 89866554th Alcasian Republic Military Combat Assault Taskforce had came under almost constant attack from Alcasian Federal Military forces deployed in the Alnanis Sectors. Colonel Kellson thought to himself.
However Captain Thompsons and Captain Kellog's flight crews had orders to track the ten Alcasian Federal Military Combat Assault Groups which assembled in the Berabs System to find out were they would attack next.
Over in Anacoda's mess hall, Lieutenant Commander Kevins, Lieutenant Jacobson, Lieutenant Lerrans and Lieutenant Perras finished their triage of those of wounded in the most recent attacks and released those fit for duty back to their stations. Every able bodied person was needed at their post, after all it would only be a matter of time before the next attack.
"All personnel, this is the CO speaking." Colonel Kellson said to the 600 officers and enlisted personnel stationed onboard the Anacoda via the shipwide intercom system. "Due to ongoing attacks by Alcasian Federal Military vessels, all armory, engineering, medical, docking bay and military police officers and enlisted personnel will be placed on a three watch rotation for the unseen future. All department heads will receive updated duty rosters specifying when you'll be on duty."
In the Armory, Captain Kevin Lonns who had just come on duty along with the other amory personnel assigned to the second watch duty shift went over the compliment of missiles and torpedeos carried onboard the Anacoda.
"If we were in friendly territory, we could get resupplied in regard to weapons." Lieutenant Eric Verras said as he and another armory officer breech loaded a torpedeo into the starboard launcher. "and other things as well."
"Verras, like it or not we are behind the lines and have to make the best of our situation." Captain Kevin Lonns responded from several feet away. He consulted his datapad which had a duty roster for his section. "Tomorrow we are assigned to a third watch duty shift."
When he said this, a lot of the other Armory officers looked over at him for a moment before they returned to their respective duties.
Near the Berabs System, Captain Thompsons exited the bridge of Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99754 and went to rest in the passenger section as he had very little sleep since their recon mission began.
At the bridge Scanner control console, Lieutenant Mark Ressan opened a pack of field rations carried onboard the transport for the duration of their assignment and ate while he continued to monitor the situation around the Berab System.
"Ressan, have you figured out where those Combat Assault Groups are headed yet?" Lieutenant Dan Verras commented from the Communications console.
"Dan, you're supposed to be monitoring the communication traffic between those vessels as well." Lieutenant Mark Ressan responded as he watched the transponder signals of the 2,457,600 Alcasian Federal Military starships, crusiers and destroyers which at that moment were grouped into forty Combat Assault Forces.
"It's too bad we can't pick off those cargo transports and cryithum." Lieutenant Gregory Picken commented as he rotated his chair away from the weapon control console.
"Our orders are to find out where those Combat Assault Groups intend to attack us and when." Lieutenant Commander Bryan Thailians responded from the flight control console as he rotated away from the bow plasma window towards Lieutenant Picken seated at the weapon control console to his right.
After several hours, Lieutenant Mark Ressan watched on the scanner display as the 2,457,600 Alcasian Federal Military starships, crusiers and destroyers which were still grouped in forty Combat Assault Forces went to hyperlight speed.
"Sir, the AFMCAFs have gone to hyperlight speed." Lieutenant Mark Ressan said. "According to their hyperlight emissions and transponder signals, they are heading for the Alcasia Sectors, Alsan Sectors, Allins Sectors, Aliinen Sectors, Alicasan Sectors, and Alcins Sectors."
In the command chair, Captain Thompsons looked over at Lieutenant Dan Verras who had a wireless communication device in his right ear.
"Send an encoded transmission to the Anacoda and tell Colonel Kellson that the Alcasian Federal Military vessels in the Berabs System are headed towards the Alcasia Sectors, Alsan Sectors, Allins Sectors, Aliinen Sectors, Alicasan Sectors, and Alcins Sectors." Captain Thompsons said to Lieutenant Verras. "Brayans, set course for the Anacoda's current position, maximum hyperlight speed."
While Lieutenant Dan Verras transmitted intelligence on the Alcasian Federal Military Combat Assault Groups headed for the Alcasia Sectors, Alsan Sectors, Allins Sectors, Aliinen Sectors, Alicasan Sectors, and Alcins Sectors to the Anacoda. Lieutenant Commander Brayans put Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99764 on an intercept course towards with Anacoda and went to hyperlight speed.
Likewise onboard Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99754, Captain Kellog gave orders to Lieutenant Commander Dan Lettans to match course and speed with Alcasian Federal Military Transport Sierra 99764.
Onboard the Anacoda, Colonel Kellson quickly read over the intelligence report displayed on the Computer Access Terminal Screen and opened a VACS channel to the CO's Office onboard the Adsasia. After a few seconds, Commander Sanders appeared on the VACS seated at his desk.
"Sir, we need to contact ARMCOS and tell them the Alcasian Federal Military currently has forty Combat Assault Forces on route towards the Alcasia Sectors, Alsan Sectors, Allins Sectors, Aliinen Sectors, Alicasan Sectors, and Alcins Sectors." Colonel Kellson said to Commander Sanders.
Onboard the Adsasia, Commander Sanders opened a second Video Audio Communication Screen transmission to Alcasia and the feed from President Acres' office in the executive building was displayed alongside the feed from the Anacoda.
"Sir, prepare for an attack." Commander Sanders said to President Acres.
