Chapter 5- Black Eyes

The old pick up fumbled down the road while I watched the scenery that passed by. It's been three days since I've entered the woods and the night I found out Austin was a vampire, and that I was his mate.

He was taking me to meet his coven. A human in a room full of vampires, what could be better? Austin reassured me that they were all vegetarian vampires.

"Will you relax? They're gonna love you." Austin tapped his fingers against the steering wheel.

"I can't. Just the thought of being in a room full of vampires does not seem like something a human girl would want. What is this Twilight?" I through my hands into the air.

"Well we're here." Austin gave me a small smile before getting out of the truck.

I slowly moved out of the truck and to Austin. He took my hand as we walked up the white porch steps the the big black front door with a glass window that had been fogged so you couldn't see inside. Austin opened the door and dragged me inside with him.

The inside was quiet. There was a faint sound of a piano playing and people talking. the floors were all a dark wood with beautiful, modern furniture. To the left of the entry way was a large staircase. On the right there was a living room. As we walked down the hall way there was a few doors then we walked into the kitchen. Off the kitchen to the right was a family room where the talking had come from.

A dark headed boy stood and walked towards me and Austin. He was maybe thirteen by his looks.

"Julia this is David, he's the newest of the coven and also the fastest." Austin looked at David who smiled.

I studied David before realizing his eyes were black. Austin had explained that new vampires had black eyes instead of their normal eye color. it was suppose to last a few years after the change.

David gave me a look up and down before huffing past us.

"He's still adjusting." Austin said.

"This is my mother, Michele." Austin said as his mom walked towards us.

She had light brown eyes and soft brown hair that went just past her shoulders. She showed me a kind smile before hugging Austin.

"I'm going for a hunt." She kissed Austin's forehead then left.

A blonde headed girl walked in and turned to where I could see her face.

"Oh my god." Was all I could say.

Rebecca was a vampire.

"Julia." Rebecca looked at me with her black eyes.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I nearly screamed at her.

"I was waiting for you to find out about Austin." Her expression softened as she looked down at the floor.

"Just don't lie to me okay?" I whispered and she nodded.

Andrew came busting through the door with his arm rested on a tall. skinny girl who looked to be about fourteen with brown hair and black eyes.

"I'm Lexi." She held out her hand to me.

"Julia." I shook her hand.

There were alot of black eyes around here.

"Well you've meet everyone." Austin smiled.

"When is she gonna be one of us?" Lexi smiled sitting on a bar stool.

"When she's ready." Austin answered looking amused.

I stood there shocked that there were talking about me becoming a vampire infront of me. Okay I'm happy with my human life and I'm not all too big about blood. Let alone drinking it.

"Calm down Julia. We're just teasing. We did the same thing when Rebecca came around." Andrew said.

"It's not as bad as you might think." Rebecca said.

"So how do you guys become vampires?" I stupidly asked.

"When your bitten by one vampire they must drink your blood till your drained. Then they will give you some of their blood to drink till you can feed on a human to make you a vampire." Rebecca explained.

"It's mostly the mates that change their human mate." Austin looked down at his lap.

"Austin." I warned.

I knew he was scared to give me something I didn't want. And that he might hurt me. But I had learned to trust him. He just needs to learn to trust himself.
