Chapter 18- Snow

It's been a week since the last time we had any contact with Rider, Lexi or any of the werewolfs. We've been all getting quiet about everything now and there hasn't been much conversation. I went back home to leave a note with my mom telling her that I was staying at a friend's house for a while because I didn't want to be around her work life and I had talked to my brother, he didn't say much but did tell me that mom had some new boyfriend and that he wasn't hanging around home like I was because he couldn't see mom with another guy but mom didn't seem to care that we were both on our own for now. I couldn't just bring my mom into this mess and I wasn't gonna deal with another man in my mom's life, when she's only doing this to forget about dad.

"Julia, are you okay?" I looked over to see Austin starring at me while I was reading, well not really reading now.

"Yeah just thinking." I answered and kept my eyes back to my book.

An arm wrapped around my petit waist and pulled me closer. Austin rached for my book and closed it, as he laid me back in his arms, my head resting on his rock hard chest. We stayed there like that, just holding each other, looking eachother in the eyes.

"Julia, could I talk to you please?" Rebecca came into the room, something about the way she was looking at me told be that something was happening.

"Yeah sure." I got out of Austin's arms and walked with her to her room and sat on the couch as she pased the floor.

"So you know how Tyler is connected to me?" She asked her black eyes shining in the light.

Her eyes still were vampireish, since she's a new.

"Yeah, Ausitn said something like that."

"Well see, for that to happen a vampire and his mate have to do something to be connected." Rebecca said in a nervous tone.

"Yeah?" I answered crunching up my eyebrows.

"Me and Tyler made love." She looked me dead in the eyes.

"Oh Rebecca that's so sweet." I stood and hugged her.

"Thanks for not judging me." Rebecca laughed, starting to calm down a little.

"Why would I judge you?" I looked at her.

"How many teens do you know that have done that?" She looked at me and I laughed.

"A lot, just relax okay? You were very mature about it." Me and Rebecca walked out of her room and down the stairs to where the boys were.

They were all lounged on the couch, watching basketball on T.V.

"Hey can we go shopping?" I asked over the noise that came from the T.V. speakers.

"NO." They all answered.

"Why not, we're bored?" I walked up to the T.V. and turned it off.

"Hey! We were watching that." Tyler yelled, sitting up from his lazy, laid back positon on the couch.

"Oh well. We've all been in a bad mood since Rebecca was kidnapped and I've had about enough of this gloomy attitude. Now we're all gonna get up and do something." I turned off the T.V. placing my hands on my hips.

"No we're not leaving the house. If we leave they can cause harm to us." Austin said from his place on the couch.

I groaned and fell into Austin's arms, sitting on his lap. Rebecca flopped down next to Tyler. They all let out a laugh at our tiredness.

My eyes went to the fixed back door wall of windows. Small flakes were starting to fall.

"Austin look it's snowing." I pointed to the glass.

"Do you wanna go outside?" Austin smiled at me and ran to get my coat.

When he came back he helped me put on my coat and shoes as we all ran into the backyard were the snow had left a nice thick blanket. We ran around throwing snow balls and chasing each other. I kept getting caught do to no vampire speed. Austin grabbed my hand and lifted me into his back while he climbed the nearest tree. I clung to him for dear life.

"Austin what are you doing?!" I laughed but at the same time I was scared of falling.

"I want you to see something." Austin stopped at a high branch and held into my waist as I looked out.

It was beautiful. Trees were covered in the beautiful white snow. The city lights off in a distance, shining in the dark snowy night.

I shivered as I realized I was cold.

"Come here. Let's go back down." Austin pulled me onto his back as he descended the tree.

With a crunch we landed in the snow. Austin helped me down from his back and we walked in side hand in hand with the others.

Someone grabbed my waist pulling me away from Austin.
