Chapter 17- Rebecca
"Listen to me okay?" Austin grabbed my arms and pulled me close to him gently.
I nodded. Austin seemed to be on edge today. Everything he did was done with such care, like if anything went wrong it would blow up.
"You need to say behind me, don't compel to what they say. If someone comes after you I want you to shot this." Austin placed a hand gun in my hands.
"Flip this for wooden bullets, and the other way for silver. Julia this is something I would never let you do, if there was any other way but you're part of the deal and we all have to be there if we want Rebecca back." Austin sighed and turned around.
When he turned to face me again he placed a small stack of clothes in my hands, over top of the gun. He then told me I needed to dress in the clothes.
In the bathroom I throw on the black jeans, pulling the tight black tee shirt over my head, pulling the black button up jacket over top. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail like Austin had asked me to do. When I existed the bathroom Austin put a belt through the belt loops on my jeans.
"Hand me your gun." Austin said.
He placed the gun in the belt where it fitted at my side. I slid my phone into my back pocket. Austin gave me one last look before he pulled the necklace out of under my shirt so it laid in plan sight. With a deep sigh, Austin lead me into the living room where the others, Tyler, Andrew, David and Michele, waited, all of them dressed in the same material as I was. Austin sported a tight black shirt with dark jeans.
Before we left, I slipped my shoes on, the ones Austin said I should wear. They were combat boots that came to the middle of my calf. Austin crouched next to me, slipping one wooden stake in each of my boots where they weren't visible.
"Austin, it's time." Tyler said.
We all stood and headed for the door. The note told us that we were suppose to meet in the old cemetery. That place scared me, all the times I wished I could draw it now I feared going there. But this was to save my best friend. I would just have to face it.
"Head down the south path and enter the side." Austin yelled to the front of the group walking.
Austin held my hand in reassurance. I didn't know what they wanted and no one wanted to tell me. But figuring on what Austin had said earlier, it had something to do with me. I was the problem of all of this and they were probably just trying to get me out of their life's so they don't all end up dying.
"What are you thinking about?" Austin whispered near my ear as we walked silently down the leaf path towards my feared death trap.
"What did they ask for? Just tell me." I muttered but Austin heard well enough.
"They want to see you in the flesh. Though I don't like that idea and I know their gonna pull something. I wanna make sure you can protect your self." Austin clenched his jaw tight.
I took a deep breath and kept on walking right behind the others, wondering deep in the back of my mind of what kind of hell we we're about to walk into.
The brisk air blew across the ground disturbing the dry, dead leafs. How could something so beautiful be so deadly in a seance? It pondered me in so many ways on how this was gonna go. Was today my last day? Would we get Rebecca back?
"We're here. Now we wait till Lexi and Rider show up. Be aware of your surroundings." Tyler told all of us while I stayed close to Austin's side.
Then everything went down. On the other side of the cemetery, a group of people walked up the path way till they were in the middle of the cemetery. I noticed only a few people. Lexi and Rider along with the two guys that broke into back side of the house. Some of the other people I didn't even know. Then my eyes settled on Rebecca.
She was so pale, her eyes baring only sadness. Her skin bared marks, gashes and burns. Her hair was untamed and her clothes were torn.
Austin grabbed me by my waist and pulled me towards the group. They all kept their eyes locked on the ONE thing they wanted. Me. They're black eyes watched my every move. I didn't mind the starring it was what they might be thinking that scared me.
"My dear friends." Rider greeted us all with a deadly smile. The smile of a killer.
"Rider don't play with us. Just do what you came here to do." Tyler stood his ground with his words that came out brood.
"I want to see the girl. Julia." He said my name like it was the name of his dinner and for as far as I was aware I might be.
Austin allowed me to walk forward but only with him at my side. Rider kept his evil grin plastered to his face.
"Sweet Sweet beauty." Rider said his words slow.
"What do you want with the return of Rebecca?" Austin asked this time.
"This girl's blood." Rider said his eyes never leaving me. "A whole feeds worth."
"N-" Austin almost said but Tyler cut him off by smacking his back.
They shared a look and Austin turned to look at me. I only nodded. She was my best friend, I would die for her.
"Ok." Austin swallowed hard.
"Swell. Who do you choose from these vampires and I to do it?" Rider licked his lips.
"You." Austin said to Rider.
Rider almost blew up with joy as he was the one who could possibly kill me.
"No more than a feeding and if any more I will kill you and all of your vamps." Austin growled in Rider's face.
"What of corse." Rider said. "Remove her necklace."
With shaky hands Austin lifted the protection from me and held it in his hand. Rider walked towards me. I bit my lip as I felt his breath on my neck. That's when I made my move. I pulled the gun so swift and quiet and shot.
The sound rang out as Rider winced in pain. Austin quickly placed the necklace over my head. This was gonna be war. I shot Rider in the hip and shoulder while he was on the ground in pain. Lexi shot for me but Austin grabbed her and took her down. The wolfs that were with them, released Rebecca and came after us. I changed it to silver and shot three of them in the heart while the other two came towards us. Tyler got Rebecca and brought her to a safe spot and we all ran. Austin wrapped me in his arms and ran faster with me with him. Everyone followed.
I winced as something hit my side hard. I wasn't sure what it was but at that point I was just worried about getting to the house alive.
As the house came near I remembered the coven spell they put over the house. Any vampire/werewolf that wasn't welcome onto the property couldn't get in, was burned.
Austin ran into the living room and carefully laid me on the couch.
"Julia you did amazing. I never thought you would have been able to do it." Austin kissed me hard.
I then remembered my side and lifted up my shirt. A gash was open on my side, blood spilled from it.
"When did that happen?" Austin asked his eyes settled on the gash.
"When we were running back." I answered.
"Andrew get goos, rubbing cleaner and a wet rag." Austin yelled as Andrew disappeared to get what Austin had demanded.
Austin brought his wrist up to his mouth before letting blood fall onto my skin. A scream ripped through my lips as it burned like fire worse than before. Andrew returned with the stuff in his arms as he stood there watching me in pain.
Austin cleaned the wound and rubbed the cleaner over it before wrapping the goos around the whole perimeter of my waist.
