Lovers of a Different Blood (OLD/DISCONTINUED)

Safe. For Now...

Shadow's POV:

   I was weary as I approached the Blue Prince and his "army". He had dismounted his steed. What's he doing...? A skid to a halt when I look down some gun barrels.

"Whoa!!" I shout. "Who are you, Black Blood, and how foolish are you to approach the Blue Prince?!" A guard shouted. I grimaced at the word foolish. I was tempted to pop his head right off his shoulders, yet I wanted to remain neutral. "I'm Shadow the Hedgehog, and I have come to warn you." I state.

The guard wasn't convinced, yet the prince looked intrigued. "Lower your guns." He commands. "But-But my prince—" the guard began before being interrupted by the once mounted boy. "I said lower your guns." He said, more sternly. "Y-yes my liege..." The guard sighed, commanding the others to follow in suit. There was at least thirty, from my point of view. I saw a name badge on the horse's chest. "España." I say. The blue male turned his gaze to me, his emerald eyes locking with mine. "Yeah, that the horse's name." He says.

"Might I ask what yours is?" I ask. "Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog." He says. "Now, what's a Black Blood doing here, with Blue Bloods? What did you want to warn us about?" Sonic asks. "You need to make a beeline for Silver Blood territory. Black forces wait at the border to kill you." I respond. The guards remain unconvinced. Sonic smiled. "Care to tag along?" Asks Sonic. To be honest, I kinda did.

I give him a curt nod and whistle. Shadowflare gallops up. I mount him. "There." I state. Sonic chuckles and mounts España. "M-my liege. Are you sure about this? He could be leading us right into a trap..." The main guard pointed out. Sonic looks at him, then me, then back again. "You have a point. What are you leading us to?" He asks, looking into my ruby eyes. "Safety." I state. "I'll prove it." We then turned direction to the Silver Blood border. It was only a few hours away and we would get there by sunset or moonrise.

With guards on our side, we were protected. We could only hope they an army doesn't attack in the middle of the night, especially my Blood. We rode at a steady pace, slow enough that the guards could keep up. This was the start of our journey. Together. I suddenly heard a female's voice in my head.

"Way to go! Now, go get the Psychokinetic Silver Blood! Once you do, look beyond what you see. Keep this in mind; what is beyond the provinces?" Sonic then gave me a weird look. "Did you hear that voice too?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah." Sonic hums a 'hmmmm'. "What is beyond the provinces...?" We echo. This outta be good. I thought. A quest. To end this stupid war. I will avenge you...Maria...
