Traitor

Mephiles PoV:

Where is he?! His horse is back, but he's NOT! Shadow. That traitor. He lied to me. He broke our rules. He's helping the Blue Blood evade our troops. Shadow, when I find you, and that little blue rat, I'll—

"Mephiles!" I'm rudely ripped from my thoughts as another Black Blood approaches me. "What do you want, soldier?" I ask slowly, my voice laced with malice. "W-well.." he stutters, "..the r-rain's getting harder, and it's n-near impossible to stay upright."

My haunting gaze meets his frightened one. "Then you cowards head back inside." I snarl, black ooze forming under my feet. "I have my own mission." The ooze, to them, swallows me up slowly, like quicksand. "Y-yessir!" He shouted in alarm, running back to the rest of the soldiers. I allow the ooze to consume me, and I exhale three words.

"Shadow's last location."

I materialize from the shadow of a tree on a drenched knoll. Rain batters me and pelts my quills, but I ignore it. I couldn't jump right into battle with a Blue Blood and Shadow. I don't know how entirely outmatched I am.

Wind slaps me and threatens to lift me off my feet, so I allow myself to become one with the shadow the tree possessed. Shadow, when I find you and that little blue rat, I'll slaughter the both of you so brutally there'll be nothing left of either of you.

An: yeah I know this one is short, but I was runnin' outta things to make him do. I'll make another chapter this week to make up for this one's shortness. I'm happy cause it's Spring Break yay and I get to go horseback riding Thursday with my mom and cousin! I'll try to get a chapter in either tomorrow or Thursday evening, so stay tuned for that. Yay, Mephiles is stalking them! :D
