Sonic's POV:
I couldn't help but smile at the scene in front of me. This lost boy finally back in his father's arms. I glance about and notice some other Silver Bloods looking at us, but I can't read their emotions. Bewildered? Angry? Scared? Ready to kill, even?
"Uhh, Silver? Can ya call off your buddies?" I ask, fear hidden in my voice. "Huh?" He lifted his head from his dad's chest. "Oh, u-uh sure." Silver said politely. Chaos, he's cute. "Guys? C-can ya please leave us be?" He asked, scanning the bunch around us. "Who are they, Silvy?" A voice asks.
A female bat lands. "That's none of your concern, Rouge." Silver says, raising his voice a bit. Shadow lets go of his son. "I want to know." She says. Silver tenses. He's afraid. I think. Afraid of our identities being taken. Afraid of what they'll do to us. I place my hands on my hips and tap my toe. I'm bored.
Shadow seems to sense this and walks to my side. "Relax, Faker," Shadow begins. Ooh. A pet name. "And let him do the talking. They don't appear to enjoy our presence." The ebony male says in a low voice, as his son argues with his kind. "Ooh! This one, this one looks like a prince!" An old male...something...growls, poking my nose. "Leave him alone." Silver growls. The teen's body begins to glow a teal or aquamarine color. I gasp in amazement. "Whoa."
The other Silver Bloods cower or run away in terror of Silver. Heck, even that bat he called Rouge fled! "Silv?" I ask. I decided to give all of my companions nicknames. The teen's head turns to face me. He stopped glowing. "You alright? Ya seem...flustered." I state. "I'm fine." Silver says. "You're not safe here. We must go. Now." He adds, running off. I follow. "Guards, go back to the castle and tell them that I'm safe." I command. "SND TAKE THE DANG HORSE WITH YOU!" The guards were reluctant, but left anyway.
Shadow mounts his own horse. I have to return Shadowflare to his stall. I'll be back. Meet me at that tree." He points at a tree a little ways south. "I wish you well." And with that, he gallops off. "Kay!!" I shout after him. I then take off towards Silver. "Silv! Follow me!" I call as I direct him to the tree Shads pointed at.Silver flew after me.
Once I stopped, I collapsed under the tree. I didn't realize how hot it was. Till now, at least. Silver landed in the tree. "So, what's life in the castle like?" Silver asked after a uncomfortable moment of silence. "It's...well..." I trail off, thinking of the right thing to say. "It's boring, but fun at the same time. I remember one time when my brother Manic 'accidentally' knocked a big bowl of mashed potatoes into my sister Sonia. We laughed so hard. Sonia got her revenge by putting makeup on us." I laughed. "And mom and dad had to clean all of us up." I sniffle. Silver began to feel my pain, for he jumped out of the tree and landed beside me.
"Lost your dad, huh?" He asked. I nod. "I lost my mother. She's been visiting me in my dreams." Silver said, taking my hand and holding it. I felt a blush rise to my face. For some odd reason, my cheeks flush red, not blue like the others. I thought it was just a little mess up. I look a Silver, and his cheeks are flushed, too. Except, it looks kinda blueish. Huh. His dad is a Black Blood, and he's Silver Blood, like his mother. Maybe... My thoughts are interrupted when Shadow runs up.
"Hey Shads!" I say. I feel Silver's hand quickly let go of mine. "Faker. Son." He responds coolly. He says 'Faker' is a rival-ish way. "Hi dad." Silver says, standing. "We'd better get moving. We don't want the Silver Bloods or the Black Army to find us." I say. "Right!" Father and son say in unison. I take the lead, murmuring the words that feminine voice said yesterday. "What lays beyond the provinces?" The voice suddenly reappears, talking to all three of us.
"That's it! Keep moving! Look for the forest hidden from the rivaling bloods, there I and another lay, trapped inside this cavern for another day, thoughts of freedom enter our minds, we'll have to see which two survive." Her voice echoes in our heads. "Which two survive?!" Silver yells. "That means..." I say. "One won't live to see another day..." Shadow finishes. "But...but who?" Silver asks in a quiet, quivering voice. He sounds terrified as well as confident. Mostly terrified. "I hope it's me." I say. The two other look at me in bewilderment.
"I can't stand to watch one of you two die." My voice falters. "I hope it is me." Shadow says. He sounds thoughtful. "I couldn't bear to watch you die, Sonic. Or Silver." He adds. "No, it has to be me." Silver says. I see fear in his beautiful golden irises.
"I don't want to watch either of you die. If I lost you, Sonic, I would feel empty and out of laughs. You are a wisecracker. Stay strong. And dad. I can't loose another parent. It would crush me. I was in mom's arms when she died, and Rouge protected me. Please, hear me out." Silver said. Shads and I stare at him in shock. "Silver..." I begin. He'd already run off. I take off after him, Shadow on my heels. I can tell, this adventure is gonna be fun, terrifying, sad, and amazing all at the same time. Especially when you have Shadow and Silver the Hedgehogs as your companions. I chuckle, picking up the pace and passing Silv.
He seems to take this as a challenge and speeds up, beginning to levitate. Shadow speeds up, passing both of us in an instant. Silver and I take off, passing one another in a playful race to the forest. The sun was beginning to set, which caused my blue fur to turn purple like my mother's and Silver's silver fur to turn orange. Shadow remained the same, but a beautiful orange glow surrounded him.
I've only got three words for ya right now. Best. Day. Ever.
