CHAPTER TEN: THE DANCE

Without taking a backwards glance, I dash out of the kitchen to go look for Aubrey.

I got so caught up with the beer pong game that I didn't even realize that Aubrey left. I'm such a bad friend. I can't let Aubrey screw up her life just because her best friend is easy to distract. I told myself that I would come to the party and look after her but instead I played a fucking drinking game with my fucking annoying, country talking, V line bottom shaped, plump red lips, neighbour. How could I have chosen him instead of her? What kind of friend am I?

When I step out of the kitchen, I land in the main entry way where pretty much everyone is sucking their faces off or smoking pot.

Not spotting Aubrey anywhere I start towards another room when I hear someone behind me.

"Chicken out already?" an annoying country voice says from behind me.

I roll my eyes and spin on the balls of my feet. To my surprise Aaron is standing pretty close to me. How did he manage to sneak up on me so quietly?

"Screw you", I say before turning once again on my heels and marching out of the main entry and into what looks like a formal living room. It's pretty empty apart from some guys playing a drinking card game in the middle of the room.

As I'm making my way out of the room and into another one, one of the boys whistles at me from behind. If I were sober, I would just ignore him knowing that he's probably drunk, but, since I'm feeling a little braver than usual, I turn around and look at him with a glare.

"Do you see a collar around my neck?" I ask him harshly.

He lifts an eyebrow at me in confusion.

"I'm not a dog you douche bag", I exclaim before turning on my heels and marching out of the room.

On the other side of the living room is a hallway full of rooms. A couple of the doors are open, but the majority of them are closed, so, I race to the end of the hall fearing the thought of seeing something I don't particularly want to see.

If Aubrey's already in one of those rooms there's nothing I can do about it at this point so I have to go look somewhere else in case she's still a virgin at the moment.

At the end of the hall there's a big flight of stairs and an opening towards another room. I choose to go into another room because up the flight of stairs is probably going to be more rooms and I didn't want to stand in the middle of a bunch of hormonal teenagers having sex they'll regret tomorrow.

The first thing I see when I enter the other room is Aaron's smirking face; he's literally standing a foot away from me. Seriously! What does this guy want?

I glare at him and try to make my way around him without any luck.

"What do you want asshole?" I ask him irritated with his presence.

He smirks. "Oh how I love the nickname you've given me".

I groan. I don't even know guys this irritating existed. I was happier when I didn't know. Oh how I miss the good ol' days; which was a week ago.
