CHAPTER FIVE: THE SUPPER
This has been the worst two hours of my entire life. Did Aaron really have to ask a ride home from a cheerleader? I think walking home from school would've been faster than staying to watch their cheerleading practice.
Oh who was I kidding? He wasn't even looking at their cheering asses; he was looking at our spandex shorts wearing butts!
Okay, so we volleyball girls do know that our asses get stared a lot because of the lack of length our shorts have, but at least some guys have the decency to be subtle about it.
He even twisted his head to the side in a cliché way. I knew he's rude and cocky, but a perv wasn't really on the top of my list; it was more like the 6th or 7th spot on my list of things I already know about Aaron Lucas. He looks like he has enough respect for himself; but I guess not. I managed to figure out one possible quality he might possess and he ruins it.
At some point during the practice, I looked at the cheerleaders and Karen was staring at Aaron and looked pretty aggravated about the fact that he hadn't even glanced at her once.
I have to admit, that pleased me. For once, an attractive boy didn't look at the slutty, dancing cheerleader.
After practice, I rushed into the girl's locker room to dodge any unwanted encounters with Aaron. I'm not really in the mood for his arrogant comments and rude remarks.
And now, i am currently standing outside of the boy's locker room playing Temple Run 2 on my iPhone waiting for Connor. I have been standing here for about half an hour. Every boy in the team have already left the school and once again Connor is the last one showering. I swear he has to get up like two hours in advance before school just to take a shower. It's a good thing Connor is the team's kicker, because he isn't the fastest person in the world.
I am concentrating on the tiny man running on my screen when the door beside me flies open. Because of that, I jump a feet in the air and drop my phone on the cement floor.
I turn my head to look at Connor, only to come face to face with his smirking features. I glare at him and bend down to pick up my phone. I turn it around hesitantly in my hand only to see that it wasn't even scratched. I smile and get up from the floor.
"You shower like a grandma", I mumble at Connor, while slipping my phone into my jeans' back pocket.
He lets out a small laugh and slips his arm around me shoulder. He still smelled like sweat but it was mixed with the familiar smell of Connor's cinnamon scented body wash.
I lean into his embrace and we stay silent all the way outside to his car. Once he lets go of me, I go around his little Ford Focus and open the door to the passenger seat. I throw an old piece of pizza and a dirty pair of gym shorts on the floor of the car before sitting on the seat hesitantly.
This car is so gross. It smells like filthy clothes and dirt. I hold my breath every time I get into this car.
"You really need to clean this thing", I say looking around with my nose crinkled.
He lets out a sigh and turns the key into the ignition to start the car. It does a couple of rumbling sounds before roaring to life.
He also has to fix his car.
"Will you stop being such a girl? You're beginning to sound like Aubrey", he says backing out of the car's parking spot.
I frown at him. He knows how much that pisses me off.
I love Aubrey with all of my heart; but let's face it, she's a girly girl. And I for one am not and hate being called one. And Connor knows that better than anyone.
