Chapter 22

That's when it hit me...

"Your the girl from the beach! The one Mira spoke with. I followed you back to ask you to stay and marry me or one of my brothers for Mira's sake."Joseph had said when we were in the woods. This was all an act. I turned to him smiling. He leaned forward as if trying to kiss me but I jumped up and looked at him. He opened his eyes and stood as well.

"What is it?" He asked and I smiled looking down.

"Your a good actor." I whispered loud enough for him to hear.

"Excuse... Oh." He said and I looked up. His face had immediately changed from a soft to a hard scary looking face.

"Why?" I asked and he smirked.

"For Mira. She lived having you that one day my brothers and I couldn't bare seeing her sad the next." He said and I shook my head. I turned from him and he sighed.

"You lied. You lied about everything!" I cried feeling hurt. I took off in a run not wanting to see his face anymore. Visions of my other friends popped in my head. I had almost forgotten them. Blake, when he smiled at me the first time. Nisk, when he was shy to meet me. Caspen, when he was working. Sisca, when he helped me earn control of my instincts. Dean, when I over powered him. Matt, when he saved me. Josh, when he saved me. Alec, when he showed me their secret. Sam, when we were on the rock together. Everything was there that's why I had to do something. They were all my family. I needed them together. I ran to the bus stop and got on the first bus. Looking out the window I seen Mira looking, and watching with a sad face and Grey ran up. Had Mira known? No I think if she had she would have stopped them. The bus pulled forward and the ride began. It took less then four hours to get to my destination. I paid the driver and stepped off the bus walking towards the trees. I his my backpack and turned running through the tree as soon as I hit the clearing I changed and ran faster. I stopped at the tree line. This had to work. My scent flew off me and I could see it as the door of the house opened revealing Joshua Cameron. My ex best friend who is now a jerkwad. He frowned when he caught my scent and changed.

"Your not supposed to be here, Tara. This is my pack, my land, my home. Go home to yours." He growled.

"Your wrong! I was here before you and I deserve pack leader." I growled and he jumped forward I did as well but when he didn't charge I backed up a few feet.

"Don't give me that crap Tara! You don't deserve anything! All you do is hurt people. That's probably why your here isn't it? Did you hurt your other pack so bad they kicked you out?" He asked and I looked down. Did I hurt people? Images of people faces in pin flashed through my head. Sisca as he laid dying. Caspen and Zacar dead. Blake when I left. Josh when I ran. Dean when Joseph attacked him. Alec when I blacked out. Matt when I told him I was leaving. I looked up only to be thrown into a tree. Josh had taken advantage of his painful words in order to win. I felt paralyzed from my waist down and whimpered.

"Next time I say to leave. Stay gone." He growled before turning. I had no control of my body. I watched him as he walked away.

"You know she won't." I looked up to see Dean in wolf form standing there. He growled and Josh returned the growl.

"I can't believe she was ever friends with you. Your just a little douche bag." Josh barked and I began to get feeling back in my legs.

"At least I'm not a lying, retarded, bastard." Dean growled and jumped over me. I moved my hand towards him but he was already moving. Josh and him began circling each other.

"Do you really think you could ever be with her? Your pathetic. You let her be the alpha when you should have taken the authority from her!" Josh growled and Dean huffed.

"You let me have authority?" I asked and he looked back at me.

"Yes." He said and I moved my head.

"Why?" I asked and he took a deep breath.

"Because I wanted to give it to the woman I fell in love with at first sight." He said and I felt my chest fill with warmth. I was about to say something when Josh lunged forward. His intentions where stopped however by another wolf. I turned from wolf to human unable to stay wolf because the pain.

"Alec!" Josh growled and bit a huge chunk of shoulder from Alec. I was watching the fight when big arms wrapped around me and lifted me. I was met by bright blue eyes.

"Matt?" I asked and he smiled down at me. He turned towards the fight where Alec and Josh tore each other apart with their teeth.

"Joshua Carson!" I yelled but he didn't stop. He pinned Alec on the ground and clamped down on his throat causing him to choke.

"Set me down," I told Matt who hesitated but then set me down. "Joshua Lukas Carson!" I screamed and he let go of Alec's throat. I could feel a surge of something within me as he turned to me.

"What, Tara? Can't handle your best friend killing your lover?" He asked and I looked down. I looked over at Dean who stood bloody and watched.

"We both know its not him you want to kill." I said turning back to Josh. I smiled evilly and sighed.

"Should I tell them about Henry?" I asked and he became immediately agitated. He got off Alec and charged me. I felt something go through me and closed my eyes. I felt myself change. I opened my eyes and looked down at Josh who had now stopped his charge.

"What, what, what the hell?" Josh studdered and I smiled.

"Joshua Lukas Carson." I growled and he backed up.

"Tara." A voice said from behind me. I turned to see Caspen standing.
