I got out of there fast. I was pissed, hurt and felt horrible for that poor woman. I went straight to my car and got in driving one armed to the house. I parked and walked in going straight to Alec bedroom.
"You have a sister?" I asked him yelling. He looked at me shocked.
"How did you?" I stopped him.
"I jumped the three feet across our windows and got into your house. I know its an invasion of privacy but well she was crying." I said and he stepped forward putting his hands up.
"Listen, Tara. Let me explain." He said walking forward and grabbing my wrist.
"Explain what!? That you lock your sister in a house alone!?" I screamed and he covered my mouth.
"Shh. The others can't hear you." He said making me sit and sitting beside me.
"Listen my sister can't control her powers. If I bring her here she'll kill them. All of them. She... She just needs to be alone to find a way to control her powers." He said and I pulled away from him.
"Leaving her alone like that is wrong!" I said and he covered his face.
"I-i just was so scared." He said and then it hit me. He wasn't doing it because he was afraid he'd be in trouble or someone would get hurt, he was doing it because he feared she would be hurt.
"Alec. I understand." I told him and he uncovered his face.
"You do?" He asked and I leaned forward and put my hand on his shoulder. I gave him a genuine smile and he returned it. We sat there looking in each others eyes for a few moments. It was as if the clock stopped as I he leaned forward. I felt myself moving forward as well and then our lips made contact causing millions of sparks around us. We kissed like that for a minutes before I pulled away and bit my lip.
"Sorry." Alec said and I looked at him confused.
"For what?" I asked and he sighed.
"Kissing you. I should have at least taken you for coffee first." He said and I smiled.
"We can still go." I said and he looked up at me.
"Okay." He said smiling. He stared at me and I blushed looking away.
"Hey, Tara can I-" He was interrupted by the door bursting open with Josh at it.
"You pig!" He yelled jumping on top of Alec. He was choking him while straddling him.
"Joshua!" I screamed not being able to get in the middle because my arm. He didn't listen and Alec began turning bright red.
"Tara get back!" Sisca yelled grabbing Josh. He pulled him off of Alec but Josh began to turn.
"Run Alec!" I screamed and Alec jumped up and ran out of the room. Sisca lost grip of Josh and he ran after him.
"Stay here!" Sisca said taking off towards the direction I didn't listen but followed until I reached the open front door. I watched Sisca disappear into the woods in his wolf form. I wanted to run after them but I was stopped by a hand.
"Stay with everyone else." Caspen said running out with Zacar and turning into wolves. They disappeared as well after Josh into the trees and I turned to see everyone standing there. They reminded me of children.
"Come on let's go talk." I said leading them into the kitchen. We all sat at the table but no one spoke. I looked at everyone and they sat there like someone died. Hours passed and slowly one by one they went to their rooms falling asleep. Now I was up alone with Blake who looked like his face was about go in the cereal he had made.
"Blake everything will be fine, go to bed." I said and he nodded. He stood and walked to the kitchen putting the bowl in the sink and yawning. He turned and walked back to the table stopping and looking at me.
"Goodnight." He said turning and walking out.
"Goodnight." I whispered and looked down. I was tired as well but nothing could make me sleep at this point. I stood and walked to the window looking out. I caught a glimpse of my reflection and gasped. I looked sick. I turned and walked to the bathroom running cold water and splashing my face. I heard the front door open and quickly shut the water off and rushed out. The boys stood there blood covered with Sisca in there arms.
"What happened!?" I screamed as they rushed in. I cleared the kitchen table in one swift movement and looked down at them as they laid him on the table.
"Alec, get out, take Tara and shut the doors. Keep everyone out." Caspen said and I gasped.
"I can help." I cried and he shook his head.
"Out!" Caspen yelled and I growled. Alec grabbed me and began dragging me towards the door.
"No!" I screamed and tried to get free. I saw Sisca open his eyes and looking towards me. Blood was running out of deep wounds on his chest and coming out his mouth.
"Tara." He said reaching for me. At the sound of Sisca's voice, Alec let go and I rushed to Sisca's side.
"Sisca, this I all my dumb fault! What happened. Please!?" I cried and he coughed. Blood came out his nose and he wiped it with his good arm.
"Tara... Be strong... Please protect... Our family." He said and looked at Alec.
"You... Take care of... Her." He said in pain and Alec nodded. I knew it was the end of the conversation but when Alec pulled me away I began to cry and reach for him. Alec dragged me out and closed the doors. He sat me on the couch and I began to hyperventilate.
"Tara. Tara! Tara!" He yelled shaking me. I stopped and looked him in the eyes. He pulled me into a hug and rocked me as we sat there.
