Spying

Kirstie's Pov:
I was very suspicious of Scott after Mitch had disappeared. I heard him sneak out multiple times, but the thing that made me really question him was when he told Avi and Kevin he was going to the store with me, but was never at the store. I was very confused. Then later that night, he snuck out again. That's when we decided to take action.
We had first noticed Scott lied when Avi and Kevin asked if 'we' got anything. I told them that no one was with me and we realized that Scott had gone somewhere he didn't want us to find out about.
"Well what are we going to do?" I asked. We were trying to be really quiet, even though Scott was taking a shower.
"I feel like this has something to do with Mitch, so I think we should follow him the next time he sneaks out," Avi said.
"Okay, but I don't think we should all go. Just one of us. Then the other two still here can facetime with whoever is there so we see what's happening. Then we can record that on a camera or screen recording app so we can look back at everything that happens," Kevin said and Avi and I nodded.
"Who should go?" Avi asked looking at both of us questioningly.
"I'll go," I said and they agreed. I was the quietest and most graceful on my feet out of the three of us.
We prepared for this mission by getting a lot of navy blue and black clothes for me so I would blend into the night sky. Avi and Kevin took some chairs and threw a blanket on it. They called it the headquarters. It ended up being way too small and when Avi went in it the top collapsed on his head and we all laughed.
We acted normal when Scott came out of the shower, and we waited for later in the night when he would usually sneak out. We ate dinner together and Avi brought up Mitch. Scott seemed like he wanted the conversation to end quickly so it did.
I waited in the living room on my air mattress after dinner to listen for the door. I almost fell asleep a few times but I shook myself awake. Avi and Kevin were waiting in their broken fort for me to get up once I heard the door. Then I heard it. I grabbed my black jacket and hurried to catch up to Scott. I saw something move in the kitchen and saw Scott there. He seemed like he was coming in, and then I heard the door shut.
"I missed it," I whispered under my breath.
I ran back to my air mattress and luckily Scott didn't see or hear me. At least I thought he didn't, I wasn't completely sure.
The next day Avi and Kevin wanted to try again and I agreed. Scott acted normal during the day, well as normal as he had been since Mitch was missing, and I prepared for the night.
It wasn't normal for us to hide stuff from each other, and I have always hated keeping things from Scott. I knew the only way to solve the problem was to spy on him, because if I just asked him he'd deny it. If something was important enough for Scott to hide it, then he wasn't going to tell us at all.
Once it was dark, I heard Scott pack up his backpack and begin to get ready to sneak out. I quietly told Avi and Kevin to be ready with Avi's phone and the camera to record everything on the screen.
I turned off the lights so it looked like we were sleeping and after 20 minutes, Scott came down the hallway. I quietly got up, and since I was already prepared, I followed close behind Scott. He didn't hear me or see me, I was sure of that. He closed the door, and I caught it before it fully closed.
Scott ran, and I followed, making sure I kept a safe distance away from him. He ran really fast and I had trouble keeping up with him. He seemed to know exactly where he was going, and I was very confused.
Many questions came into my head. Where has he been going? Why is it such a secret too? Does it involve Mitch and him disappearing?
Eventually he slowed down and stopped near a circle of trees and some big rocks. I hid behind a bush so Scott wouldn't see me.
"Hello!" Scott suddenly said and I jumped up what he was talking to.
What I saw there almost made me faint.

Oooo so much suspense. I've literally said that in the past 2 or 3 author notes 😂 I would have made this longer but... Okay I really have no excuses but tomorrow will be back to normal side which is about 1,000 words so around 10 pages? I don't wven know but I hope you've been enjoying this so far. I'm letting you know that this book is over 1/2 way (I think) I'm thinking about a second book? I don't know yet. I've set this up a little so there can be a second book but I'm not exactly sure what the plot would be! Okay this is almost 900 words now and 150 of that is this authors note which probably no one reads unless you know me irl. Also sorry it wasn't double space at the end here idk what happened.
Boop Boop,
~Sam🤘🏻 (look at me using Mitch's weekly obsession😏) (LOOK AT IT🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻) I don't WVEN know anymore I'm delusional from nail polish fumes but byee
