Avi's Pov:
     "Plan b?" Kevin asked.
     "Let's go," I said.
Scott nodded and we looked around where we were. There was a small river to our right with lots of fish, and a few boulders just sitting there. Scott waved for Kevin and I to follow, and he ran off into the forest. I sighed and Kevin got up, brushing dust off his backpack.
We ran for what felt like an hour but was probably only a few minutes. After this I never want to run again, I thought as Scott slowed down. Things looked a little familiar to me from when we facetimed with Kirstie to see what was happening.
"Should...  we look... for them?" I asked breathlessly, and sat down on the ground to rest.
"Yes," Scott said and I realized that he wasn't tired at all. How? Oh wait... Hasn't he been sneaking out for a while? Does he run every time? This is too confusing, I thought. Kevin must have been thinking the same thing.
"Aren't you...  tired?" Kevin asked. Scott nodded.
"Yes but I'm willing to run a million miles to save them," he answered and I thought about it for a second. Scott's words gave me the strength to get up and run again. Kevin did the same. We wanted to save Mitch and Kirstie more than we wanted anything else.
One we were energized again, we ran all around the forest for a little while and then we heard growling.
"Is that them?" I asked and Scott held up a finger for me to wait. He turned around and looked towards where the noises were coming from.
"Yep that's them. You got the paper Kevin?"
"Yeah I got it," Kevin said as he pulled the paper out of his backpack.
"Let's do this," Scott said with a gleam in his eye.
It was the happiest he'd looked in over a two weeks, which was how long they had been 'zombie horses' at that point. Kevin laughed and eventually we were all laughing and being happy again, until I remembered we hadn't saved them yet. I stood up strait and cleared my throat.
"Okay now let's really do this," I said as seriously as I could.
Mitch and Kirstie were both to our right, and they seemed as if they had gotten a lot more... Terrifying. It could have just been the fact it was the first time seeing them in person as a zombie or it could have been that they were actually getting worse. Either way I didn't like it.
Kevin and I backed up but Scott practically ran over to them.
"Ok guys, if you're in there, move your hands," he said, his voice shaking a little.  Mitch's right hand waved and Kirstie made her fingers move up and down.
"Okay... Uhh Avi, Kevin, can you come over here? I don't think I can do this alone..." Scott said and we moved closer. Mitch and Kirstie didn't move and we walked towards them until we stood next to Scott.
"Let's begin with the day we met... We-" Scott said and was cut off by a loud and scratchy voice behind us.
"Stop this immediately!" It said and the man and out from behind the tree. Kevin practically fainted and I just glared. I knew it would have been too easy to just say a few memories and move on with life. We'd have to fight.
