Please Don't Go (Scömìche)

Run Away

Scott's Pov:
After Steve told me to leave his lab, I went back home. I decided to tell Mitch the next day when I wasn't so tired. When I got home, I remember hearing some noises in the kitchen, but I didn't think anything of it. I went to my room and fell asleep.
The next day went by quickly and that night I snuck out again after everyone was asleep. I began to feel bad I hadn't told them, but I wasn't going to risk telling them and have Mitch end up in a hospital. Yet it still never occurred to me that Kirstie might have been following me at the time.
I ran to where Mitch usually was and sure enough, he was there. He looked the same from the previous day.
     "Hi!" I said to him and he texted me something. 'Hello', it said. Then I heard something behind me and I turned around to look at it. There was nothing there.
     "What was that?" I asked Mitch. He texted me his response.
     'A majestical forest catttttt named Scottie 🦁🙈😂' I smiled, but still didn't like the fact I heard something because the last time I heard something in the forest it was Mitch as a zombie.
     I suddenly heard a weird noise coming from Mitch and I saw him shaking a lot. He started to fall and I caught him. He kept shaking and I realized what was happening. The chemicals were beginning to work. They were starting to fully take over. And he could bite people and the same things would happen to them.
     I wasn't worried at all about being bit because I knew Mitch would find a way to stop the zombie/horse. Then I heard a familiar voice that jolted me to reality.
     "Scott what is happening!" Kirstie screamed from behind a bush and came out. I opened my mouth in shock and my eyes opened wide.
     "Kirstie! What? How..."
     "Later! What's wrong with Mitch!" I took a deep breath because I knew it would take a minute to explain.
     "A scientist injected him with weird chemicals for a weird science experiment to turn him into a weird horse! Gah! Now the chemicals are starting to change him! Mitch could control his fingers but a zombie thing kept taking over the rest of him. I've been communicating with him and he's okay he just wants to be normal again. I was about to tell him this would happen so🍓n but now it's happening!"
     Mitch stopped shaking and laid still in my arms.
     "SCOTT IS HE ALIVE!" Kirstie screamed and I grabbed his arm to check his pulse. I waited for a few seconds, but felt no heartbeat. Then I began to freak out.
     "THERE'S NOTHING KIRSTIE WHAT DO WE DO!" I screamed into the quiet woods and heard the echo.
     "How am I supposed to know? How did you know this was going to happen before Mitch knew?" Kirstie asked.
     "I met the scientist yesterday in his lab to get information about how to cure Mitch when I snuck out yesterday," I said. I tried to check for a heartbeat again and this time I felt it. It was slow, but there.
     "He's okay now... Whew. Mitch can you move your fingers so we know your brain is still in there and not disintegrating yet!"
    The zombie made Mitch get up and I could tell Mitch was fighting to stay near Kirstie and I. He moved his fingers to show he was okay. The zombie moved Mitch closer to us and Mitch got out his phone to text me. Kirstie came next to me to read his text. Finally Mitch sent it and it showed up on my phone. It said "I'm okay just tell me what else you figured out!" I tried to remember exactly what happened when I went to the scientists lab.
     "Okay...uhh...Oh! Steven said that after five days you'll be a full horse and after 7 your brain will disintegrate and a new one will form. He also said... Uh... Well two more, one is good and one is bad. You're not going to like the bad one..." I said. I didn't want to have to tell Mitch and Kirstie that now there's a possibility that we would all turn into zombie horses.
     "Scott tell us!" Kirstie said and Mitch suddenly dropped his phone and growled angrily. He ran to Kirstie and grabbed her arm, trying to bite her. Kirstie moved out of the way and ran back behind the bush. Mitch took control and texted me something. I checked my phone and read it to Kirstie who stayed behind her bush.
     "He said 'it's getting harder to control and something's happening'," I said to Kirstie.
     "TELL US WHAT YOU WERE SAYING SCOTT," she screamed back. I knew I would get away with not telling them so I said it quickly.
     "Okay the guy said that we can still change him back with memories but right now he could bite either one of us and we would be a zombie too and turn into horses! Kirstie quick we need memories!"
     "The day we all met together for the first time!" Kirstie said and Mitch looked a little bit less like a zombie.
     "The time we filmed telephone for my old channel! And Kirstie messed up part of it in one of them and we started laughing so much!" I said trying to think of more.
     "The moment we found out we won the sing off!" Kirstie said I laughed a little.
     "When we filmed a video, the three of us, for superfruit! The frozen medley! Kirstie used her hair as wigs for us and in the bloopers we screamed jinx a lot!" I laughed at myself for not making much sense. It seemed to work though, because Mitch looked really normal. I still saw that his eyes didn't have the normal glow they usually do. Kirstie got closer to him and I was confused about what she was doing. I only realized she thought he was normal when she was about to hug him. I was about to tell Kirstie to back up when Mitch growled and grabbed Kirstie's arm. He bit it and Kirstie fell over. She quickly got up, and when I saw her face, she had turned into a zombie. The memories had worn off and Mitch was also zombie-like. They both ran into the forest and I fell to the ground.
     I silently cried, feeling defeated. Then I noticed something beside me shining. I picked it up and saw it was Kirstie's phone. It was on and facetiming with someone. I blinked and saw it was Avi and Kevin.
    "Did what I think happen just happen?" Avi asked, looking behind me for Kirstie and Mitch.
     "Kirstie turned into a zombie and they ran away," I said showing no emotion on my face.

Suspensefulllllll. I think this is probably the most suspenseful  chapter yet. 
Also I can't believe I updated during the day and not at like 10:30!
