Spying Part 2

There was Mitch, but he didn't look like himself. He looked very different, like he'd been living in the forest. I jumped back in shock and cracked a stick behind me. Scott turned his head my way, but didn't see me because I was already behind the bush again.
"What was that?" Scott asked and Mitch began to type something in his phone. Scott phone dinged and he looked at it and smiled.
Then something strange began to happen. Mitch began shaking and his legs collapsed. Mitch fell to the ground and Scott turned around really fast. He caught Mitch in mid-air and Mitch began shaking more. Scott was tearing up and I decided to expose myself to help Mitch with...whatever was happening. It was really confusing to see Mitch looking like he was from a horror movie and Scott being okay with it. I questioned everything I knew about life before.
"Scott what is happening!" I screamed as I came out of my hiding place.
"Kirstie! What? How..."
"Later! What's wrong with Mitch!" He looked at the ground like he was sorry he didn't tell Avi, Kevin, and I sooner. I glared at him until he looked up again and spoke.
"A scientist injected him with weird chemicals for a weird science experiment to turn him into a weird horse! Gah! Now the chemicals are starting to change him! Mitch could control his fingers but a zombie thing kept taking over the rest of him. I've been communicating with him and he's okay he just wants to be normal again. I was about to tell him this would happen so🍓n but now it's happening!"
Mitch's head slumped over and he stopped moving. My eyes widened and I completely panicked.
"SCOTT IS HE ALIVE!" I screamed and Scott checked his pulse.
"THERE'S NOTHING KIRSTIE WHAT DO WE DO!"
"How am I supposed to know? How did you know this was going to happen before Mitch knew?"
"I met the scientist yesterday in his lab to get information about how to cure Mitch when I snuck out yesterday," he said and checked Mitch's pulse again. A smile spread across his face.
"He's okay now... Whew. Mitch can you move your fingers so we know your brain is still in there and not disintegrating yet!"
The zombie Mitch moved its fingers and got up. He pulled out his phone and texted Scott something. I went over to read it with Scott and it said "I'm okay just tell me what else you figured out!"
"Okay...uhh...Oh! Steven said that after five days you'll be a full horse and after 7 your brain will disintegrate and a new one will form. He also said... Uh... Well two more, one is good and one is bad. You're not going to like the bad one..." Scott said and stopped.
"Scott tell us!" I said and Mitch texted Scott the same thing. Then suddenly Mitch dropped his phone and growled angrily towards me. He came over and tried to bite me, but I dodged him and ran behind my bush again. The growling stopped and Mitch texted Scott again.
"He said 'it's getting harder to control and something's happening'," Scott called over to me.
"TELL US WHAT YOU WERE SAYING SCOTT," I screamed.
"Okay the guy said that we can still change him back with memories but right now he could bite either one of us and we would be a zombie too and turn into horses! Kirstie quick we need memories!" I began to think of first our earliest times as Pentatonix.
"The day we all met together for the first time!" I said and Mitch got a little less zombie-like.
"The time we filmed telephone for my old channel! And Kirstie messed up part of it in one of them and we started laughing so much!" Scott said and I smiled at the memory. I continued thinking. I remembered a very good memory.
"The moment we found out we won the sing off!" That memory alone was enough for Mitch to almost turn back into a full human again, but still not enough.
"When we filmed a video, the three of us, for superfruit! The frozen medley! Kirstie used her hair as wigs for us and in the bloopers we screamed jinx a lot!" Scott was having trouble describing things, and I was too, because it was a lot of pressure. Mitch got really quiet and looked pretty normal. I went to hug him because I was very sure he was fine now. Right when we were about to hug, he growled evilly and bit my arm.
Worst mistake of my life.
I then turned into a zombie.
