I stir awake to the sound of what I think is rough housing. I look behind me to see Emily still sound asleep. I stretch and carefully leave her room trying not to wake her so she can get a few more moments to sleep. Once I've made it out of her room I make my way down stairs, glad when I hear the sound of buffoonery retreat. I continue down to the first floor, and walk strait to the kitchen.

In the kitchen I jump up onto one of the many chairs just in time to see the Luna walk in with a stack of empty plates as she sets them out. When the Luna spots me she smiles and gives me a wink. That must mean she's all caught up on the situation.

"Hello dear, I hope you had a good rest because I need your help today." She glances over at me as she sets the last few plates at the table, and I realize she's speaking to me. No-one else is around of course.

All I do in return is give her a yes which being in my form shapes it into a meow as always. She the slides and sends me off to retrieve Emily for her so she doesn't miss breakfast and I oblige. As I run up stairs trying to be quick I'm suddenly yanked back and crying out in pain. Someone stepped on my tail! I look up and hiss at my attacker and it just so happens to be Chase.

I hiss at him, but he ignores my declare of hatred and reaches to pick me up. I turn around ready to claw, but I'm already to late. He moves his hand out of the way and grabs me. I hiss loudly expecting him to continue picking me up, but his hand recoils back giving me the upper hand. I look back ready to attack, but he just stares at me in bewilderment.

After a few moments he leaves La-La Land or wherever his mind wandered off to, and reaches out to get me again but this time I'm prepared and run off. After I make it to Emily's room, I try to catch my breath but I can't. What was it that made him act so... weird.

Chase

Something is seriously wrong with that cat, I shake my head continuing down stairs.

'Oh shut up there's nothing bad about that cat' I stop startled. Is my wolf really taking the side of a cat over me?

'Since when have you had a crush on a cat?' I say to him and receive a less than friendly growl from him.

'Theirs just something about the cat. She has a mind-link, but I just can break the wall. That cat, might not be a cat.' My wolf has officially lost it. Where did I go wrong.

My wolf growls at my disbelief and cuts off our connection as I enter my room. I look through it starting with my drawers until I realize where the help is. I walk over to my desk and pick up my family photo and pull out a card from the back of it. The help. It's a business card for a witch. Her name is Esmeralda, but she's not taken lightly.

The front of the card was a bright pastel pink embroidery in the shape of a heart with her name in fancy white letters decorating the heart. Flipping to the back I read the 10 digit number. Picking up my phone I dial the number from the card and I put the card back in the photo as the phone rang.

"Esmeralda here, how may I help you?" The voice of a cheerful lady who sounds as if she's 20 speaks through the phone. I would think I had the wrong number if I didn't know the women.

"I need your assistance with something."

"What do you need this time chase?" I can hear to irritation in her voice knowing she hates my family.

"I need a for sure thing to lead me to my mate. One that won't give it away to her but will prevent her from hiding from me." I hide anything from my voice that she could as leverage."

"You'll need to bring me something so I can make the item you need." She replies to my requeat sounding as if she was bored of the conversation.

"I'll bring what you need to your stump when I can." I hang up the phone and drop down to my bed with a sigh. I'll figure out what's going on in this place sooner or later.
