The whole family reunion, still in full swing has us all sitting in the main room of the house. While my brother got up right before we started a movie to watch Chase stole his seat. It was comical really because when he turned back around to see Chase sitting next to me he growled. Chase then put his arm around me pointing out that he had no intentions of moving, so grumbling my brother reluctantly sat down on the other couch, his mate moving to sit next to him.

As the movie started, my mind drifted off. My conversation with Sasha replaying in my head, more questions filtering through my mind as my suspicions were confirmed. This house, and the family I don't remember as it is now, something was off maybe even everything.

The more I think about what I remember from the past, which seems to be very little, the less and less I remember almost as if my mind is clouded by lies and misplaced information. How would that even be possible?

"You okay?" Startled I look up to Chase. He noticed I wasn't even paying attention to the movie. Nodding my head I stand up and make my way around the couch needing a break from the clashing noises of two men fighting in the movie. "Where are you going?"

"To make some popcorn." I turn and walk out of the room. Once in the kitchen, I sigh in frustration. I could've easily said I was going to the restroom giving me endless time to be gone, but no I said I was going to make popcorn when I have no idea if this house has any popcorn, to begin with.

Scouring the cupboards I have no such luck in finding the popcorn. Next target, the pantry. As I'm rummaging through the pantry in hopes of finding what I'm looking for I hear the microwave start sending me spinning around to face whoever intruded the kitchen. It was Sash. "We keep the popcorn in the cabinets under the screen in the movie room. It helps to ask where things are when you don't know where to look." Grabbing onto the counter behind her, Sash hoists herself up onto the counter and sits.

"Yeah? Well, tables are made for glasses, not asses." I place my hands on my hips fully aware of how snarky I sound.

Sash snaps back a retort, "Wow, where'd you pick up that? Those are some offensive words to pick up being stuck in a pet store."

"I didn't learn it at the pet store. A nice old lady said it to me before my captivity." Walking over to stand across from Sash I allow myself to listen for anyone else who may be nearby. Noone could be heard. "Are we gonna talk about what happened earlier?"

"Like I said, not here. And I doubt we'll have a chance to speak alone with your mate so long as one of the two gargoyles are awake." Snorting I glance up at the time left on the microwave.

"We're calling them gargoyles now?" Sash nods, her lips tilted up playfully. "When will we have a chance to talk as the 3 of us then?"

"It's too risky. I'll tell you everything when we have the chance, and you can relay it to your mate." Rolling my eyes I let out a dramatic sigh.

"Why do I feel like your making a game out of this?" The microwave beeps at the same time as Sash growls in frustration.

"I'm not!" She winces slightly as she realizes how loud she spoke. "This is a matter of life and death. Our lives. It's not a game." Reaching past me she grabs the popcorn out of the microwave and dumps it into a bowl that she then hands to me.

"I'm guessing it's time to go back now?" Sash nods and turns in the direction of the movie room, her hair bouncing with every step she takes.

"You could at least tell me when we'll have a chance," I grumble as I follow my sister back to the movie room. Walking behind her I contemplate if I really want to go back there or if I'd rather be swallowed up by the earth.

Just as I decide I go to turn around, but then I see Chase with his legs across the couch as a way to keep my brother from snatching my spot leaving him across the room from me. I don't know if it was because of my inner cat and the mate bond between Chase and Me, or if it was the sweet awkwardness of his tactics, but I change my mind. Smiling softly, I walk back into the room and I jump over the back of the couch landing in my mate's lap.

Startled he yelps out in surprise causing everyone who was focused on the movie to turn their heads over at us while Sasha snickers. "Sorry." I voice out feeling the heat of a blush creep up my neck. It's only after everyone is focused back on the tv that I notice the tingling sensation along my legs where they connect with Chase. Does he feel it too?

Worried that I might be making him uncomfortable I shift over to get off of him, but before I can he grabs me and pulls me into him. "You're not going anywhere." The sensation of him whispering in my ear causes my brain to feel all fuzzy. Not being able to think about moving away anymore I shift closer to him and look back at the television as if I'm watching the movie, when in reality all I'm thinking about, is Chase.
