Chase

I exit my car with the collar still in the bag and go inside. However, at my arrival, I walk in on a hushed conversation between my parents. Setting the bag down by the door, I creep closer to listen in when their voices suddenly go quiet.

"Chase, are you excited for your big party tomorrow?" My mother smiles widely at me as she waltzes through the door I was just trying to sneak through.

"Yes, of course, I can't wait to meet my mate." That's really all I'm looking forward to really.

"Well that's good son, just don't get your hopes up too high, you don't even know if she'll be there." My father jumps in on the conversation as he walks into the room. He's said the same thing about her too many times.

"Yes, dad I know that already" I roll my eyes at him as I open the bag of chips I snatched from the bowl on the table. My mother then taps my arm to let me know not to eat anymore, and I can't help but snort earning me an eye roll from my father as he continues to talk.

"Alright, well go on then. Your mother and I have things to discuss." He shoos me off -which isn't usual- he never does that. I shrug off my father and do as he says, and I head off to my room only to stay the for the rest of the night.

I wake up early with a start and leave the house in hopes that I'll find my mate before my party tomorrow. Its when I get to school I take a deep breath already knowing today might be more frustrating then I would hope.

As the day drags along dreadfully slowly I find myself having to avoid several omegas and sluts throughout my pack as they claim to be my mate.  With each second becoming more dreadfully bothersome. I take a seat in the back by a trash can for my fourth-period class as people keep passing me notes during class. As the clock ticks on I count down the seconds till school lets out impatiently. Once it finally rings I dash out of class through the halls and to my car, taking no time at all to start its engine and speed out of there.

Raylina

"Thanks for helping me out today." The Luna smiles at me over her shoulder.

"Of course it got me out of learning." I pick up a few of the toys around the room and put them on the shelf for tomorrow. The place was just about as clean as it could be. The toys in their buckets and on their shelves along with a few books.

"Alright well at least let me treat you out as a thank you for helping me." Ana walks over to the closet over by the entrance to the daycare and pulls out two coats, one for her, and the other for me.

"No, it's fine. I had fun today with the little kids, no treat out is necessary." The luna hands me the other jacket and slip it on quickly.

"Oh whatever, I'm at least taking you shopping for your dress." Ana pulls open letting some cold air rush in, as I turn the last of the lights off.

"Dress? For what?!?" I pull my jacket tight around me as I walk outside. Not from the cold, but the idea of me wearing a dress.

"For my son's party of course." The Luna locks the door behind her.

"But-" I try to make an excuse, yet she cuts me off before I can even get two words.

"No butts about it." She says in the hard tone of all mothers around the world. It gets really annoying after awhile.

"Fine." I surrender following her to her car.

"If their's no way out of it, may I at least stay in my cat form as we shop?"

"Sorry, no pets are allowed in the mall." She starts the engine and drives away from the daycare, and heads for what I assume is the mall.

"Service pets are allowed." I counter her remembering one time when I went to the mall when I was maybe 3 with someone and there was a dog wearing a vest for service animals.

"Yea, but so far there's only been service dogs at the mall." Her statement is true, and I realize I'd rather risk embarrassing myself rather than being chased through the mall.

"Yea ok." I look out the window to see we've already arrived.

We both exit the car, and I follow Ana into the mall. We walk through a pair of double doors and I'm hit with a mixture of different sents, and I only know what a select few of them are. I look around trying to match each thing with it's sent, but the number of people in every direction confuses me so I put all my focus into following the Luna and not losing her.

I follow her into a store filled with dresses. The dresses are all so pretty that I can't decide. The luna tells me I should try them on, but I refuse. Looking through many different dresses I have no Idea what I should be looking for so I look at what a girl with chocolate colored curls that fall down her back decides to get. The Luna notices who I was looking at once she has my attention again and laughs.

"Don't shop for what she does, shop for something that speaks to you. Besides she should be at school."

"What makes you say that? She looks like an adult." Ana hangs some dresses shes holding back on a rack.

"I'm friends with her mother" The Luna waves as if it's no big deal and walks over the girl.

"I'm sorry miss, but aren't you appose to be at school?" The Luna ask her from behind using a tone that would make even me think she's a worker.

"I'm sorry, but aren't workers suppose to stay out of the customers business, and not be so annoying and meddlesome?" The girl turns around with a venomous look that quickly shifts into pure horror when she sees the Luna.

"Now I hope you don't talk to your mother with that mouth." I almost laugh, seeing the smile on Ana's face.

"I am so sorry Luna." The girl looks abashed as she keeps her eyes on her feet.

"Get your ass back to school right now before I call your mother."  I turn around and duck behind the rack of clothing as a laugh slips past my lips.

"Yes, Luna." She runs off following the Luna's command.

"That was interesting" I giggle standing back up as the Luna approaches me.

"It was" She hums, and continues looks at more dresses.

"We should give up on looking. I'm not going to find a dress I like, I don't even know what I like." I step back from the clothing rack with a sigh.

"Well you not going to find it with that attitude." The Luna chuckles pulling another dress off the rack and holds it up to me.

"Shopping is boring" I lean back, only for the rack to roll away from me and leaving only the floor beneath me as I fall onto it. The luna laughs at my clumsiness while I sit up to see the dress she's holding up now.

"Now this is cute, you should try it on." She's right, it's cute. Really cute. Standing up I take the dress and hold it up to my frame.

"Can I get this one?" I look at the Luna and she's smiling triumphantly.

"Alright, let's get it and go." I smile following her to the checkout.

The dress looks like something a fairy would wear. It's a light baby blue, almost turquoise-colored dress. It has no straps and has a silky ribbon around the wast that connects to a small bow. Finally, it has a skirt like bottom that's shorter in the front and longer in the back.

Once the dress is in a bag and paid for the Luna and I spend some time window shopping and making jokes before we go back to the car. I promised her I'd help set up for the party earlier, so that gives me an excuse to find a spot to hide out for the party that will work in my human form as well as my cat form before it starts. I might even be able to throw chase off my trail.
