I hopped off the bus and sighed with relief, glad to be home. I unlocked the door to the house and walked into the refreshing silence of being home alone.
I decided to raid the kitchen, so grabbed a couple Oreos, a glass of milk, and some bread.
I gulped it down and ran upstairs to my room. I flipped the light on and went on my laptop. Emma would be getting ready for school right now, or probably sleeping in, so I decided to watch YouTube. Bee, Will, Meghan Mcarthy, and Vanoss had posted videos. Which should I watch first? I decided on Queen Bee, and proceeded to watch her Sims 4 video. My phone lit up and I glanced at the screen. Emma had posted something. I liked it and read the caption, which cracked me up. I tagged Will and put the laughing crying emoji.
I scrolled through the rest of my feed. Another Cube fan posted something about it being ok to DM them whenever. Since Emma is nine hours behind me, I decided to DM her.
"Hey." I said.
After a few moments she replied with, "Hi! What's your name?"
"I'm Alice. What about you?" I asked.
"My name is Clare."
"Cool. What timezone?"
"I live in Quebec, so whatever timezone that is." She said.
I laughed. "I live in Paris. Do you speak French?"
"No, not really. So your... 6 hours ahead of me?"
I thought for a moment. "Yep. Hey, if your six hours late aren't you in school?"
"I'm at lunch."
"Oh, cool. Well, enjoy your lunch."
