I jumped out of my chair. "Really!?!"
"Hush, fille. Sit back down." Mamma calmed me.
"Yes. We are going to San Francisco in August." Dad repeated.
I quietly took my seat.
"Why do we have to go?" Alex whined. "It's your job offer."
"Who's going to watch you?" Mamma eyed him.
The little brat pointed at me. "Her. Or Ms. Hannah."
"No. You should experience a different country." My parents agreed.
"Yeah, don't you want to see them play American football?" I tried bribing him, pleading that the rest of my brothers would want to go.
He wrinkled his nose. "American? What the difference?"
"American football is soccer." Dad explained. "And I heard the 49ers are pretty good."
"As of a few years ago." I snorted. I knew all about American football because Emma always rants about it.
"Maybe we should go to a game?" Dad suggested.
"No." My brothers didn't agree.
"Awe, come on. It'll be fun." I tried. Then, I decided to ask if just I could go. "Well, I want to come, maybe just I could go with you two? Ms. Hannah could watch them." I pointed across the street.
They thought. Then Mamma declared, "If one goes, all go."
"So because she wants to we have to go?" Alex whined. "Not fair!"
I looked at him with pleading eyes. Just let me meet my friend. I turned to Lenny, Tommy, and Jack.
"Well?"
"I-I don't want to." Lenny decided.
Figures. Lenny does whatever Alex wants. Alex smirked at me.
"No." Jack crossed his arms and shook his head.
Tommy looked around. "I don't care what we do. I want to go to a Ahm-ere-I-can foot-ball game."
"See?" I glared at Alex.
"He's just two. Do you think a two-year old can really make decisions like that?" Alex challenged.
"Well, I think a fourteen-year old makes better decisions than a twelve-year old who thinks he has a girlfriend." I retorted, placing my hands on my hips.
Dad crossed his arms. "Sit down! Both of you! This is no way to act!"
We sat silently, throwing dirty looks across the table at each other.
"We are all going." Was the final decision.
We were all excused and ran off to do as we pleased.
I ran to my room and grabbed my phone. It was six. Emma must have just got to school. She would be on her phone. I decided to tell her right then and there.
"OMG AJKwjxbWjizinqhu-inxbehizjiJ GUESS WHAT M&M?!?!?!!??!!??!"
"Wth is up with you?"
"IM FUCKING GOING TO SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!"
"WHAY YHE LEGIR FUCL Jusjsy/wishg WJEN!?!?!"
"IN AUGUST. MY DAD HAS A JOB INTERVIEW AND THE WHOLE FAM IS COMING."
"I. CANT. WE ARE GONNA DO IT. WE ARE GONNA BREAK THE MOTHERFUCKING DISTANCE!!"
"Oh, and guess what?"
"What now?" She asked.
"I'm going to a 49ers game while I'm there 😏"
"Oml. Little bitch. They suck, just a warning. I wasted my summer saving up to buy a ticket to go to a game and then they got destroyed." Emma ranted.
"Well, hopefully they do better this time."
"When you are there and I'm not. I sure hope not."
"I sure do." I laughed.
"Well, I gtg. Ttyl, Boo."
"Bye, M&M."
