"Hey happy 4th of July hoe!" I told Alice.
"Umm what."
"4th of July."
"Idk what that is."
"Ohhhhhhhhhh your not American xD." I giggled.
"Would you like to explain??????"
"Ye, so we basically celebrate independence."
"Oh." Alice replied. "Nice."
"Ye." I said. "Luke invited me and my mom to a cook out. I'm nervous cause idk who will be there."
"Don't be ;)"
"Well ty." I replied.
"Has your mom met Luke before ;))"
"No, that's why she's coming"

"Ok is this seriously what my life has come to" I asked.
"Yes, yes it is"
"That's gr8"
"Well I'm in it so he'll ya it's great"
"Emma! We're leaving in half a hour!" Mom called down the hall.
"K mom!" I turned back to my phone. "Aye, I gtg so bye Boo"
"Bye M"
Mom had bought me a light, flowing dress with the extra money we'd saved up. I slipped it on and proceeded to do my makeup.
I did a smokey eye, which I normally don't do a lot, and put on some light pink lipstick. I never do highlights or foundation or any of that (I'm just a freshman!)
I hopped onto my phone and texted Luke, "Leaving soon :D"
"Can't wait to see you" He replied.
My heart leapt. "Same here"

I shut the car door and walked with my mom up the driveway to Luke's giant house. We knocked and a pretty lady with wavy brown hair answered.
"You must be Amy." She smiled at my mom.
"Uh- yes." Mom answered, looking down.
"Hello, Emma." She looked at me.
"Hi." I'd met her once before but was still a bit shy.
"Well, come in." She shooed us inside. We put our stuff down on some shelves in a entry hall. A fancy dining room was to the left of us and a living room with a at least 60 inch TV on the right.
"What a beautiful house." Mom complimented.
I've never been super social before so I've never seen the insides of many houses, and I was shocked at the size of the house.
"Thank you." She nodded. "Well, everyone is out back." She pointed down the hallway to a screen door.
"Ok. Thank you." Mom said. We walked down the long hallway and out the door.
It opened up to a porch with a grill and bench. Stairs led down to the green grass, where there was a pool, many lawn chairs strewn around, a swing set, a storage shed, a giant screen for movies and more.
Luke spotted us from in the pool and came out, walked towards us while drying his hair. He waved. "Hey!"
"Hi." I thought about hugging him but he was all wet so I decided against it.
He smiled at me and turned to my mother. "Luke."
"Amy." She said, stunned.
"What, surprised that I got a boy that hot?" I leaned close and whispered.
She swatted me away. "No-"
I didn't seem to have said it quiet enough for Luke turned pink. "Um- well, I'll introduce you to everyone and show you around, Emma." He grabbed my hand and led me off.
I turned around to my mom and smirked before she moved away to talk to a stranger who looked like Luke's aunt or something.
Luke led me to a pregnant lady and her husband. "This is my aunt Lucy and my uncle John." He gestured. "And this" -he pointed to Lucy's belly- "is Lewis."
"Hi, I'm Emma." I smiled at them.
"Hello, Emma, nice to meet you." Lucy smiled.
John nodded. "You Luke's girlfriend?"
"John!" Lucy slapped him lightly.
We both blushed. "Y-yes."
As always, Luke recovered quickly. "Sure is." He led me away to a group of boys maybe a couple years old than us. "These are my cousins Owen, Blake, and Josh. I think you can tell that Owen and Blake are twins."
I laughed. "Hi."
"Aye, she's even better lookin' than you said." Blake eyed me.
"Good score." Josh added.
"Nice." Owen said.
"Oh- I- err." I stepped back.
"Sorry." Luke whispered to me. "Yep." He quickly brought me over to a group of four older girls.
"Lily and Jess are my older sisters." He told me. "Callie is Owen and Blake's sister and then Ali is Josh's."
"Hey!" Lily said to me in a friendly manner. She looked about two years older than me.
Jess, probably a freshman in collage, nodded at me.
"Oh my god she's so cute, Luke!" Ali exclaimed.
Luke rolled his eyes at me. "Don't give her any ideas."
We laughed.
"Don't worry." Callie giggled. "Hey, why doesn't she stay with us for now while you go chill with Owen and them?"
"Fine by me as long as your good." He turned to me.
"Yeah, go ahead." I told him.
"Ok." He ran off back to the boys.
"So, is Luke a good boyfriend?" Callie asked.
"Ew, that's my brother." Jess wrinkled her pierced nose.
"Well yeah." I said.
"Chill." Callie nudged Jess.
"So you guys wanna go get some food?" Ali asked. "Then go in the pool?"
"Yeah sure." We all agreed.

"Hey, Em, you going to watch the movie?" Luke called me from next to the screen. It was about eight.
"Yeah, what are we watching?" I replied.
"Fifty first dates." He answered.
Almost everyone gathered around, sitting on blankets in the soft grass. Me and Luke shared a blanket. I leaned my head against his shoulder bad he surprised me by kissing me on my forehead.
I could just slightly see my mom keeping an eye on me. Overprotective much? By the end of the movie me and Luke had lay down, his arm wrapped around mine.
As the credits came up Luke grabbed my hand and leaned in the kiss me. On the lips.
I hesitated for a second, held my breath, and leaned in. His lips were soft and I enjoyed the kiss very much. I'd never had something like this. It lasted about three seconds then we pulled away.
I gazed into his blue eyes in the faint light. God knows what Alice will say to this. Probably something like 'BOYFRIEND GOALS.'
I looked around. Most people hadn't seen it but Lucy had and was pointing it out to my mom. Help! Her head snapped around so fast I barley saw it move.
"Shit." I muttered.
"What?" Luke asked.
"Your aunt just told my mom we kissed."
"Well did you like it?"
"Like what?" I asked, confused.
"Our kiss, silly. Our first kiss."
I nodded. "For sure."
