Facetime

My mom is healing fast. I've talked to Alice again. We every day, as usual, and of course we talk to Clare as well. Luke doesn't know about my family and I don't exactly plan to tell him. We text each other and FaceTime, though.
Speaking of which, my phone started vibrating. Incoming FaceTime call from Luke 😍😭 I turned on my light and checked the mirror quickly before answering.
"Hey." He said.
"So how's your cat doing?"
He snorted. "Excuse me?"
I froze up. "Wait. You don't have a cat..."
He laughed. "You nervous about something?"
Oh nothing, only that I'm talking to the hottest boy in my grade. "Uh no."
"K." He grinned, teeth pearly white. Luke had put a SnapBack over his curly brown hair. His icy blue eyes smiled at me.
I couldn't help blushing. What the hell are you doing, Emma? Your not this girly. I sighed. "So watcha doin?"
"Talkin to you." Luke winked. "What you doin?"
"Never woulda guessed that." I snorted. "I'm being bored."
"Aye, same here." He agreed. "Hey."
"Wassup?" I asked, heart skipping a beat.
"You free on Friday?"
"I- uh, no. I mean, yeah, yeah, I'm free on Friday." I tripped up on my words.
"You wanna go see a movie or some shit like that?" Luke asked.
"Sure!" I exclaimed. Fuck. I sound to needy. "I mean, yeah, that's cool. What movie are ya thinkin of?"
"I dunno yet. Maybe we should just go and see what's there?" He offered.
"Sounds great. What time?" I asked.
"I'll pick you up at four. By the way, what's your address?"
I froze. He surely wouldn't like me if he saw how poor I am. "Umm, can you pick me up at school? I'm staying after to help clean up the gym."
"Sure. Anything for you." He winked. "Now I just gotta convince my brother to drive me. The struggles are real."
I giggled. What the hell? Since when did I giggle over boys? "So real. Well, I can't wait."
Luke smiled at me. "I can't either."
"Oh, how much money should I bring?"
"Don't worry, I gotcha covered." He assured me.
"Really? Thanks." I breathed. Thank god. Money was tight as it is.
"Well, I'll see ya tomorrow at school?"
"See you later." I smiled.
The FaceTime ended and I sat on the bed, staring at the ceiling. What the hell just happened? Did my crush just ask me out? I'm so excited for Friday! Just two days away. Woo.
