Lacey
I followed Sean out after handing Jay off to her, The time for waiting had come to an end, the honeymoon I wanted to have with Amelia had to wait. Lucky no one was seriously hurt during the altercation we may not have been as lucky the next time around.
Jackie hugged Jacey as the young girl cried in her mother's arms, Sean stood stoically over them, although she hid it well I knew she was worried for my former companion and her child, and I was glad for that, Jackie deserved her happiness.
"Let's get packed up we can head to Syracuse. My grandfather had his people secured a half-mile perimeter around the area we'll be safe there," Morgan said. I nodded in agreement knowing the vineyard had been compromised.
"Was McDonald aware of our plans to go to the Villa?" I asked as I watched the reunion between mother and daughter. Jackie raised her head, looked at me and mouthed a thank you. I tilted my head in the direction of the young Marine letting her know she was the one who deserved the thanks before turning away to look for my wife and sister.
"Not that I am aware," she answered following me in my search.
"Let's go see him and find out what he knows before we leave," I clenched my fist. "Sean knows him better than us, I should go let her know we can head over there in 20 minutes."
"I'll go," Morgan offered I needed to have someone load our things into the vehicles anyway. We can leave when we're done and I'll get the girls set up somewhere safe until we leave." she said before heading off.
"Ley," Amelia cried out as she ran towards me, I picked up my pace to meet her in an embrace. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?" she asked squeezing me tighter.
"I'm not hurt, love. How are you?" I asked leaning back and placing a hand on her tummy. "Do you think we need to get you checked out?"
She shook her head and placed her hand over mine, "We're fine," she gave me a smile but I could read the worried look in her eyes. "What now?" she asked.
"We'll be leaving in about an hour, do you think you can help Jackie out with Jay?" I asked. "Little girl has been through a lot and I know she'd love to have you with her." I walked Amelia towards the others and looked around for Morgan and Sean.
"Signorina Crawford," a short man came running up to me, "The Don wishes to see you at the warehouse. If you would please follow me." he breathed heavily.
'I'll be back and then we will leave." I explained to my wife before placing a kiss on her forehead "Stay together." I called back before racing after the man.
"Gunny, " Morgan called as I neared. "What's going on?"
"Not sure your grandfather sent for me," I answered.
"Me too, Wonder what's going on have you seen Sean?" she asked. I shook my head. We entered the room to find Sean detained by Don's men. Her head hung down as she slumped forward in the chair.
"What's going on?" Morgan asked as her grandfather entered the room. "Why are you holding her?"
"It seems your young soldier put a bullet through her companion's head." Don De Luca answered as he wiped some blood off his fist with a white handkerchief. I looked back at Sean noticing the blood running from a cut on her cheek.
"He's not my companion," she spat, "That no good bastard tried to hurt Jackie and her kid, he deserved the worse."
"You knew we needed to question him." I shot. "What the hell O'Riley?"
"I asked him, he refused to answer, kept going on about how we're all going to pay and how he should have just killed them outright," she growled. "I lost it, I'm sorry but I'm not going to let him or anyone hurt them."
