Chapter 7: the harsh truth

Rose slowed down and looked at her right hand. I slapped Derek...? Rose sniffed as tears threatened to fall again. I won't cry again. Not because of him anyways. She felt someone staring at her so she looked around to see Candice staring at her. Oh great..just my luck. Rose sighed and walked the other way. She tried to avoid Candice but sadly it didn't seem to work. "Hey!! Rose come here!!" Candice ran up to Rose and stood in front of her. She put her hands on her hips and smirked. " I see you've been crying." Rose glared at her but did not speak. Candice grinned. "You finally realized I was right didn't you? How pathetic, really what made you think someone as hot as him would hang with someone as ugly as you?" Candice laughed. Rose clenched her fists, she had enough. "Well if that were true, why was he my friend for more than 10 years!!" Candice thought for a bit. "Ok I guess I will tell you. We planned everything from the start. I was to bully you and he would be the hero. He was suppose to gain your trust then we would intervene and break your pitiful heart. We had the whole school on it! But he apparently said he needed more time. What a shame.. But it seems as if he did his part, now it's time to do mine." Roses eyes widened. They stung and she wanted to fall on the floor and ball her eyes out, but she couldn't, not in front of Candice. "What are you planning to do..?" She asked her. Candice gave a huge smile. "Don't worry Hun. All you need to know is that it will be when you least expect it and you will really be a loner forever." Candice shoved Rose and walked away laughing. Rose froze with tears slowly sliding down her face. Why does Derek hate me? I told him everything and i never realized he was planning to hurt me.i am so naive. Rose wiped her face and began walking forward again. She looked up and saw Derek looking around as if he was looking for someone. They made eye contact and rose gasped. She looked away and ran to the nearest bathroom. This is the worst day ever! Rose looked at her self in the mirror. How stupid could i be? I am ugly! Why did i ever believe Derek could ever like me back..? Rose's lower lip quivered as she was about to sob again. Suddenly, she heard a knock at the female's entrance. She turned to see who it was, but she didn't see anyone. She stared for a few seconds before slowly looking back at the mirror. I'm so UGLY!! I truly am.. "I know you're here Rose." Rose jumped and turned around again. Am i going crazy?! She gulped and slowly walked towards the entrance. "W-Who's there..?" Rose questioned. The owner of the voice sighed. "I didn't mean to hurt you Rose i'm sorry." Rose's eyes widened as she realized who it was. "D-Derek..?" Derek sighed again. Rose blushed but didn't come out of the bathroom. "I was in on it, that much is true, but after i realized how great of a person you are, i truly became your friend." Rose crossed her arms. "Then why did you keep it a secret?" "I'm telling you now aren't i?" "It's not good enough Derek! You hurt me badly!!" "That isn't my fault! You are the one taking this way to seriously!!!" Derek shouted at her, anger in his voice. Rose walked back until she hit a wall, then she slid down and tears rolled down her face. "Rose? Are you ignoring me?!" Derek pounded at the door. He couldn't go in. "Honey, what's wrong?" "Oh hey babe, Rose is in there and she won't come out!" "Let me handle that." Rose stared at the door in fear as it swung open and Candice stepped in. Two girls were behind her. There names were Carleen and Brianna. They were equally mean. Rose shivered on the ground as Candice walked closer. She squatted in front of Rose and cocked her head to the side. She smiled and grabbed Rose's chin, lifting her head. "Awe..Rose you're crying? It's ok don't cry." Rose jerked her head out of Candice's grip. Candice laughed maniacally and yanked Rose close to her face. "I told you i will humiliate you!!" Candice roared as she began tearing off Rose's clothes. Her shirt tore and her pants were cut with scissors. Rose squirmed trying to get away but the other girls held her down. "NOOO!" Rose sobbed and closed her eyes. "What's going on in there?" Derek asked from outside. Candice punched Rose giving her a black eye."We are done here girls." They all got up and walked out of the bathroom. Derek looked inside as the door was thrown open. He gasped as he saw Rose lying against the wall with her clothes ripped to shreds. The only thing on her was her ripped braw and underwear. Her nose was bleeding and she had a black eye, but she still cried even if it hurt. She looked up to see Derek staring at her. She held his gaze until the door closed. Rose shouted and hit her head on the wall multiple times. She screamed again, this time crying into her hands. She grabbed her backpack and searched for something to wear. There was nothing in there but some books. Rose sighed and got up. She wiped her face and opened the door slowly. She looked around to see if anyone was near. No one was so she ran away to the farthest part of the school where she collapsed and curled into a ball. This was humiliating..
