On the outside, the buildings and fields looked the same as they did in the beginning of the twenty-first century. Train tracks from all over Europe lead to it's entrance and the gate still read the same phrase as it did in the '40s:
"ARBEIT MACHT FREI"
I was not fooled by these words. yet at the same time they spoke to me, motivating me. In the Holocaust, the words were meant to lie to the innocent prisoners of the camp and tell them that if they worked hard they'd be set free. This was not true.
