Thank you, IHaveADream, for everything you do. You are the best friend, captain, secret-keeper, and Spiritual understander (does that make sense?) I've ever met. I'm so happy to be your Sister in Christ and your Narnian Ninja Apprentice :D I love you <3

I must stress that everything I write is FICTION. But, yes, the Lord is coming again soon! Comment any questions you may have. I'd love to answer them :)

Also, pay attention to the song, it's kinda the theme song for the whole book, one of the many inspirations for me to write such a book like this. Take it to heart- make it your theme song too!! Hope you like it :D

"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me." Matthew 24:9

"You can take away

Everything that I've been holding

You can take away the sun

You can take away the very air that I've been breathing

But you can't take away my God."

~Can't Take Away

by MIKESCHAIR

****************************

It was a hot, peaceful summer morning.  The sun was up over the horizon just an hour ago, and birds greeted me as I woke up.  I stretched and sighed happily. I never liked sleeping in too much, wasting school-free hours, because I would miss all of this. As I went down the hall, I saw my mother and siblings asleep in their rooms. Yes! The house was empty and peaceful for me to enjoy.

Taking out my ipod, I began playing my latest song obsession. As Mikeschair emitting from my pocket, I danced around my small kitchen, making breakfast for myself. Placing bread in the toaster, the words spoke to me so I sang along:

"You can take away, everything thing that I've been holding. You can take away the sun..." Twirling around the room, I went down my mental list; Orange juice, check. Toast and jam, check.

"You can take away, the very air that I am breathing, but you can't take away..." Spinning into the living room, the remote was found on the couch among the blankets. I turned on the TV, and the news appeared on the screen.

"My God!"

I felt a sincere need to watch the news around that time frame. All the stuff that was going on in the world in the past few months was drastic. I needed to keep myself updates, just like my father taught me.

The toaster popped in the other room. When I returned with my jam covered breakfast and my juice, a 'breaking news' came on the television. I stopped and froze.

The man appeard on the screen.

My stomach churned.

His bald head shined and his hazel eyes pierced my heart. He looked like a modern-day Julius Caesar.

I've known this man personally for years, but I've only known him by his new name sense the eighth grade.

The Change.

Over the past year and a half before this, I watched as he started invading and taking over small, third world countries. Then he moved on to the bigger ones. Since January, his empire has spread all over the Eastern Hemisphere. He has done the impossible. In six months, he won control of Germany, Poland, Italy, South Africa, Egypt, Iraq and Iran, even Russia, and so many more. Then he did what Hitler and Napoleon couldn't.

"Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's true." The news reporter said with the congress dome behind her. "This man, known as The Change, has taken over the corrupt American government, and is now our new leader."

The glass slipped from my hand. It hit the wood floor and toppled over, shattering as the juice spilt. The plate soon followed, jelly sticking to the floor and the plate spinning like a top.

My hands balled into fists at my sides. One thought arose in my head.

No!

I saw it coming.

He fed third world countries, educated every child, provided millions of jobs. He brought good to the people.

But not for long.

It was only two months and two countries later, when most of the world was in the palm of his hand, adoring him, obeying him, accepting him, that he declared a new international law.

                                                                        *The new law*

                                                              Decreeed my The Change

The armed forces are now to search

                                                                 and capture all Christians.

                                                                           The only way

                                                                     to escape is to come

to the Law House, and say:

                                                                    "There is no Jesus."

And we will know if you are truthful.

I am completely and utterly serious. The Change was after all the Christians. Every one of them. But I heard what was unspoken, I heard the secret, unspoken goal of The Change.

Me.

He's coming after me.

***

It was the summer before I turned fifteen.
