A few months later

Pretty soon, everything had calmed down. Alex had been found trying to get out of town, but was unsuccessful. He was so paranoid about being caught, he wasn't watching where he was going and crashed into a delivery truck carrying pies from the lilac inn. After investigating further, the police soon realized how mentally unstable the guy was. So instead of sending him to jail for murder, child abuse, vandalism and playing with fire, Alex Retep was sent to a very secure psychiatric home in Maryland.

Toby and Tania had decided to move in together to keep up the farm house..and because the only thing they had left was each other. Since he had promised to pay for Tania's school, Toby was lead to get a job to protect weaklings like him. He dreamed of becoming a police officer, but he didn't have the money for the training. So, he decided to get a job at a place called Jack's Diner. One day, while he was working, their uncle Christian walked in. He told Toby that he would gladly pay for his training, as long as he got a good meal in his belly. Toby smiled and served him a big bowl of oatmeal topped with brown sugar. His uncle laughed and dug in, saying it was the best meal he'd had in a while.

Toby also started working out, becoming stronger than ever. He didn't want to be as pathetic as he was before, wincing whenever he thought of the time he practically broke his bones when he tripped on the floorboards. but he sure did look odd with muscles. At least that's what Tania thought.

It was a cold November morning, the grass covered in morning frost. The twins were bundled up in coats and scarves, solemnly standing over their mother's grave. A tear rolled down Tania's cheek as she placed a bundle of daisies on Elisa Retep's gravestone..to represent love, innocence, and purity...her mother's favorite flower. Toby put his super muscular arm around her shoulder, trying to comfort her. She reached for his hand.

"She didn't deserve a man like him. It's not fair." Tania cried.

"Sometimes, life isn't fair. I mean I agree he is a terrible guy. I mean he doesn't even like oatmeal. But ya know, when life gets tough, there's really only one thing you can do." Toby sighed.

Tania looked up at him and furrowed her brow. "What's that?" She said with a confused look on her face. He looked down at her and smiled.

"Sit by the fire with a warm blanket and the people you love the most, listen to old records, and eat warm bowls of mushy oatmeal."

"Man, you always have the best advice. ."

Toby Laughed. "C'mon, let's go."

And with that, The duo walked off.
