It was the break of dawn. The hospital room where Tobias sat was dark, cold, and lonely. Not only did River not return his love for her, but there was also a big chance that she wouldn't make it. She had cracked her skull and broken several ribs in the accident..and a concussion. He blamed it all on himself. Why did he have to fall in love with her? Why did he say that he loved oatmeal more than she did? Wait...it wasn't his fault...it was oatmeal's fault. He put his hands in his pockets..only to realize that he was still carrying Oatavious, his special oat.

"I will NEVER eat oatmeal again!" Toby yelled as he threw Oatavious on the ground. He'd had it with oatmeal. It was ruining his life, and he felt that he was once again alone in the world.

"Toby....Tooobbbbyyy..." A deep voice whispered. Toby looked around..no one was in the room but his oat.

"O-oatavious? I-is t-that y-you?" Toby stammered. He looked closely at his oat.

"Yes, Toby. It is I, Oatavious. Listen to me, if you want to keep your life. First of all, how dare you curse the name of oatmeal!? Oatmeal has been nothing but good and kind and delicious. Also..It is true that you don't need River in your life..well, because all you need is oatmeal, of course..but it's nice to have her around." Oatavious bounced a little when he spoke.

"What are you saying?" Toby was getting a little frustrated with Oatavious.

"Listen Toby. That wreck was not an accident. Someone's trying to kill her..and they might even try to kill you." Just then the nurse walked in and stepped on the oat.

"River is ready to see you now, though she is unconscious...so I guess that doesn't really work...but whatever!" The nurse blushed and hurried away.

Toby didn't really want to see River. After all, she WAS ruining his life. And as for what that stupid Oatavious said? Baloney. But still, he couldn't help but wonder if it was all true. But as soon as he laid eyes on River, it all changed. There she lay, unconscious..but still as beautiful as ever. It was obvious that he still loved her..It's not like he could just UNlove her in a day, gosh! She had  huge scratches and gashes on her arms and face..but her creamy oatmeal skin was still as perfect as ever. No. He didn't care about oatmeal anymore.
