ALLINE

"Alline! Try to come down here. Isang buong araw ka ng nakamukmok diyan!" I heard my brother Snowflakes called me downstairs.

Naningkit ang mga mata ko. I don't like it whenever someone disturbed me during my reading time. I get lost in its wonders and it keeps me hanging when someone messed it up

Naiinis na isinara ko ang binabasa kong Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows pagkatapos itong lagyan ng bookmark. I'm hooked with the story and I'm on its last book.

Who wouldn't love a world full of magic? Who wouldn't want to experience being a wizard and go to a school teaching wizardry? Kung bibigyan ako ng pagkakataong ganoon ay hindi ko palalampasin.. It's amazing to experience great adventures..

Para naman hindi mairita ang aking Kuya ay bumaba na ako. He's more annoying when I'm disregarding him.

I saw someone sitting at our sofa. He's wearing a blue polo shirt and in his jeans. He looks so lean and tall. Kita iyon kahit na nakaupo siya. Naka-dekwatro siya at komportable mula sa
pagkakaupo.

He has his eyes on me.

And I don't understand why I tried to meet his stare..

When our eyes met, I saw something flickered in his eyes-- his cold light blue eyes. I saw a certain memory.

I was playing outside while those white things called snow are falling from the sky. They look like rain, but less messy.

Sometimes, I would catch some with my face and then burst into laughter. I made a snowman with a very wide smile. The frost covered  the trees nearby and afar.

I could feel the coldness, even in my small parka. I was all smile, like I've never been so happy in my whole life!

Napakurap ako. What is that?

I looked at him and his eyes was still the same. No emotion, just plainly and blankly staring at me. But wait.. How could I have a memory playing in the snow when I've never been to any country who have a winter season?

That's just so confusing.

"There you are. Bumaba ka rin. Alam mo, Alline, you shouldn't care kahit na ano pa ang sabihin nila--"

"I didn't say anything!" agad kong pagsupalpal kay Kuya.

Yes, he's a good brother. But sometimes, he just couldn't shut his mouth up. He talks like a lady and give advises like one!

"Okay, okay. My mouth is zip." then he made a gesture like he just zipped his mouth. "Well, " he continued at inakbayan ako-- his favorite hobby. "I want you to meet somebody."

Ipinakilala sa akin ni Kuya ang kasama niya. His name's Iceshihira. I don't know if Shihira's his surname or a part of his first name. Masyadong complicated. Mahirap isigaw iyon kapag galit.. Pero mukhang hindi ko talaga iyon magagawa kasi nga mukhang hindi naman kumikibo itong kasama ni Kuya.

I wouldn't have the chance to shout his name because he seems so distant. His eyes could tell, it says like " I am the King of the North!". Pero hindi naman siguro siya taga- Winterfell?

Yumuko lang siya bilang sagot sa pagbati ko. Hindi siya nakipag-shake hands sa akin. Well, kung hindi niya gusto, the feeling is mutual. Iba ang tingin ko sa kanya--

..malamig.

I don't know kung anong meron kay Iceshihira'ng at talagang umuwi ng maaga sina Mama at Papa. Kasalo namin siya ngayon sa hapunan. Nagluto pa nga si Mama ng favorite kong adobo which she's not doing so often.

I rarely see my parents in the house.. But now, they prepared for some visitors. Or maybe they are just being hospitable.

"Alline, how was your day at school?"

Even Mama treats me like a baby. I can't blame her, I act childlishly sometimes..

"It was kinda.."

"Hay naku, Mama. Hindi ka pa nasanay! May nakaaway na naman 'yan." sumbong ng Kuya kong hindi masyadong madaldal.

I heard Mama gave a heavy sigh. "All over again?" anito habang binibigyan ako ng questioning look.

Na-guilty naman ako doon. Yes, I've  always been a problem at school. And it's tiring at times but I can't help it..

"Mama, they're bullying me again! And it's because of this damn eyes!"

"Alline!" Mama warned me.

Napayuko na lang ako. I know I'm wrong. Dapat ay hindi ako magmura at sumigaw sa harap ng pagkain. Lalo pa't nakakahiya na may bisita kami. It is not right to disrespect because we're in front of the food.

"I'll just get my hot chocolate." I said then stood up.

It was my way of escaping the tension. I know Mama's not happy with my attitude. I'm already seventeen but I'm still acting like a child.

Pumunta ako sa kusina at agad akong gumawa ng hot chocolate. I can't eat and sleep without this.

"Can you make one for me?"

Nagulat ako ng may malamig na boses akong narinig. Mabuti na lang at maagap ako sa paghawak ng baso ko. If not, malamang nagka-pira-piraso na ito.

"A-Ah, okay. " Agad akong gumawa ng hot chocolate para sa kanya.

Kahit ba hindi kami close..

"Can I guess why you've been bullied at school? " anito na ikinagulat ko. ULIT.

Bakit ba nakikipag-usap siya sa akin? I thought he's distant and cold..

"It's because of your eyes." Hindi ko inaasahang komento niya. I kept myself quiet. "I don't think they'd understand what's beneath your eyes. It's the most beautiful color of an eye and a very unique one." 

Then for the first time.. he gave me a smile.

And I don't understand why I felt chills all over.

Then when I look at his glass of chocolate, there are tiny bits of ice surrounding it!

How could that be? My own eyes must be fooling me!

"You've got the greatest eyes. You'll see. Your purple eyes will rise you above them all."

Bago pa ako makapagsalita ay umalis na siya. At sinulyapan ko ang baso nito. Walang kahit na kaonting yelo dito..
